McLaren ontkent verkoop Technology Centre

McLaren-teambaas Andreas Seidl heeft ontkend dat het iconische hoofdkantoor van McLaren zal worden verkocht. De afgelopen dagen waren er geruchten dat het opvallende McLaren Technology Centre voor meer dan 250 miljoen dollar zou worden verkocht om het vervolgens weer terug te leasen van de nieuwe eigenaar.

Andere geruchten in de paddock zijn dat McLaren een minderheidbelang wil verkopen van het Formule 1-team om zo nieuw geld op te kunnen halen dat geïnvesteerd kan worden in de toekomst.

Teambaas Seidl zei over de fabrieksverkoop: "Dit heeft geen effect op het Formule 1-team. Het is gewoon een onderdeel van de herfinancieringsstrategie. De dagelijkse gang van zaken van het F1-team wordt niet beïnvloed."

Volgens mij bevestigt hij het juist in dit artikel maar stelt alleen dat het geen invloed heeft op het F1 team.

      Dat dacht ik nu ook... ik hoor geen ontkenning.

      Overigens is de verkoop en vervolgens terug huur van onroerend goed een bekend fenomeen in de zakelijke wereld. Om vervolgens jaren later in de problemen te komen omdat de huurlasten zo hoog zijn.... korte termijn politiek dus. Vraag maar aan bijvoorbeeld V&D, Blokker en Hema

      denk dat seidl ook niet veel in te mengen heeft is ook niet zijn afdeling :) Als dat willen vragen moeten ze bij brown zijn :)

      @Arie54: ik geloof je gelijk! Ik heb echter de ballen verstand van voetbal. Ik kan nog geen 5 spelers opnoemen uit de huidige eredivisie. Ik onthoud me dus van alle uitspraken die met voetbal te maken hebben

      @Rogier hier: Ik heb ook niets met voetbal, maar die verkoop/huur constructies zijn daar aan de orde van de dag. En vervolgens gaan ze zeuren dat de huur te hoog is.

    Ik durf het wel aan gezien de huidige financiele situatie. Bij deze is de opmars van McLaren gestopt.

      Bwoah, door de komst van de budgetcap en de Mercedesmotoren denk ik dat het al met al wel mee zal vallen, en Mclaren volgend seizoen wel weer voor p3-5 kan blijven vechten in het wcc.

    Volgens Seidl zat de verkoop er al langer aan te komen als onderdeel van de eerder geplande herstructurering en is het geen noodmaatregel. "Dit vormt simpelweg onderdeel van de herfinanciering die de McLaren-groep eerder dit jaar heeft aangekondigd. Dat heeft geen invloed op onze dagelijkse gang van zaken aan de F1-kant", aldus Seidl."
