Grosjean en Russell reageren op geruchten en vertrek

Bij Haas F1 is het geen paniek volgens Steiner, maar de teambaas moet wel op zoek naar twee andere coureurs. Zijn coureurs zijn in 2021 in elk geval niet meer welkom bij Haas.

Romain Grosjean en Kevin Magnussen kondigden vandaag aan dat hun vertrek na dit seizoen definitief is. Hierdoor zou er plaats zijn voor Mick Schumacher en Mazepin. Ook George Russell werd genoemd voor een plekje bij Haas maar die zegt tijdens de persconferentie het volgende: "Ik heb een contract bij Williams. Voor volgend jaar ook maar dat maakt niet uit of het is overgenomen. De nieuwe eigenaren heb ik nog niet gesproken, maar die zijn hier dit weekend. Ik zal ze dan even aanspreken."

Russell werd gevraagd of hij denkt dat talent het veld moet ruimen voor een paydriver en wat hij daarvan vindt. "Dat is niet aan mij om te zeggen. De Formule 1 draait om het beste van het beste, dus zou je het liefst zien dat prestaties en talent allesbepalend zijn. Ik heb alles gegeven om hier te komen en heb het gevoel dat ik progressie boek."

Romain Grosjean zei zojuist niet te weten dat beide coureurs volgend jaar niet in actie komen. "Elk verhaal heeft een einde. We hebben goede momenten gekend en ik ben een betere coureur geworden en heb hopelijk het team verder geholpen. Naar mijn idee haalden we er altijd het maximale uit. Het is een mooi avontuur geweest. Ik had verwacht dat slechts één van ons moest vertrekken. Door COVID-19 hebben ze een andere keuze gemaakt. Günther Steiner zei dat ze het geld nodig hadden."

Eindelijk ziet Russell nu ook eens de keerzijde vd medaille en krijgt hij niet alleen maar vragen over hoe goed zijn kwalificaties wel niet zijn.
Laten we wel wezen: de races van Russel zijn weinig indrukwekkend tot nu toe, dan kan je wel steeds snel zijn over 1 rondje maar dat koop je uiteindeli... [Lees verder]

Heb niks met beide coureurs, maar ze worden wel als zondebok gebruikt. Steiner zou ook eens zelf in de spiegel moeten kijken. Vanaf de start van Haas, heb ik nimmer enige ontwikkeling cq innovatie gezien bij Haas. Lijkt wel of ze alleen maar achteruit boeren.

  Tja, tegenwoordig heb je dat ook niet met prive-teams en ik zou niet zo snel verwachten dat ze voor de grootste prijzen of podium weer strijden. Blijft een survival mode zonder grote rugdekking(grote sponsor of autofabrikant).

Laten we wel wezen: de races van Russel zijn weinig indrukwekkend tot nu toe, dan kan je wel steeds snel zijn over 1 rondje maar dat koop je uiteindelijk weinig voor. Het is zondag wat telt.
