Lando Norris keert huiswaarts na twee weken in quarantaine

McLaren-coureur Lando Norris zal eind deze week terug naar huis vliegen vanuit Dubai. De jonge Brit was daar op vakantie toen hij besmet raakte met het coronavirus. Zijn reuk- en smaakvermogen waren plots verdwenen en hij testte positief. De regels in Dubai schrijven voor dat je dan twee weken in quarantaine moet en dus is Norris al veertien dagen zijn hotel niet meer uit geweest.

De quarantaineperiode is nu voorbij, Norris kan zich opmaken voor de reis huiswaarts. Het enige dat hij moet kunnen overleggen is een negatieve coronatest, anders mag hij het vliegtuig niet in. De jonge Brit maakt het verder prima, vernam Formula1.com van een woordvoerder van McLaren. Eenmaal terug in Groot-Brittannië zal hij zich weer afzonderen in zijn huis, vlak bij de fabriek van zijn team in Woking.

McLaren beperkt de contacten tussen teamleden in deze periode tot een minimum. Norris zal dan ook alleen een bezoek aan de fabriek brengen als dat echt noodzakelijk wordt geacht. Verder is een aangepast trainingsschema voor hem opgesteld zodat hij zich fysiek wel optimaal kan voorbereiden op het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen.
