McLaren lijkt bij livery voor 2021 voor lichtere tint blauw te kiezen

Het team van McLaren heeft via social media weer een hint gegeven over de nieuwe kleurstelling voor komend seizoen. De livery van de Britse renstal zal niet ingrijpend veranderen, of toch wel? De kleur papaya - een soort oranje - blijft leidend, maar McLaren lijkt voor een lichtere kleur blauw te kiezen. Deze beslissing is mogelijk ingegeven door de komt van Gulf als nieuwe sponsor.

Vorig jaar was de MCL35 een combinatie van papaya en een donkere, diepe tint blauw. In de foto's die McLaren zelf via social media-kanalen heeft verspreid van de spray day in samenwerking met partner AkzoNobel is een lichtere kleur blauw te zien, een soort babyblauw. De Britse renstal, in 2021 met coureurs Daniel Ricciardo en Lando Norris achter het stuur, toont het eindresultaat maandag 15 februari bij de presentatie van de nieuwe MCL35M.

      Zou mooi zijn als McLaren daarmee aan de haal gaat door Gulf te gebruiken voor meer "historisch gevoel". Zak Brown heeft daar wel een neusje voor om dat soort beslissingen te nemen.
      Dat gezegd hebbende, is de partnerschap te klein om te mogen verwachten dat Gulf zo prominent in beeld komt. Maar zeg nooit nooit. Martini was immers ook niet de best betalende sponsor bij Williams. Dat was Unilever. Maar we weten allemaal hoe die wagens er uit zagen.

      De Gulf livery was lichtblauw van kleur, het blauw in het Gulf logo zelf is donkerder.

      Er is nog een sponsor: Dell. En die heeft lichtblauw als basiskleur, niet zo babyblauwachtig als de oude Gulf livery maar dichtbij genoeg om erop te lijken.

      Deze kleur blauw associeer ik meer met DELL dan met Gulf, maar we gaan het zien, nog 5 en een halve dag :-)

    Hahaaa, m'n hoop is weer een stukje heftiger nu!! Ik riep t overal; waarom maak je t blauw niet lichtblauw met GULF reeds aan boord?! Dus dit bericht laat de plasser al wel enigszins hinniken. Dit wordt de mooiste vd grid jongens.. Ik word n McL fanboy in 2021 haha!

    (nu kan t alleen nog maar tegenvallen denk ik meteen er achteraan)

      Het is als een mooie meid met een mooi figuur van achteren zien, tot zij zich omdraait en het blijkt dat ze een paardenkop heeft.

      Ja, het zou mooi zijn om de klassieke Gulf-livery te zien. Weet alleen niet of ik mijn geliefde McLaren wel in een geleend retro-jasje wil zien - al is alles beter dan dat rare oranje wat ze nu hebben. En ik vond het geleende zwart-goud op de Lotus Renault uiteindelijk ook supermooi (heb nog een Kimi-petje uit 2012).
