Lando Norris onthult speciaal 'glitch'-helmdesign voor wintertest

McLaren-coureur Lando Norris heeft een speciaal helmdesign voor de driedaagse test in Bahrein. De jonge Brit heeft gekozen voor een glitch ontwerp dat aansluit bij zijn merchandiselijn. De kleuren zijn hetzelfde als bij zijn standaard helm, maar meer door elkaar en een beetje alsof er een storing (glitch) in het ontwerpproces is opgetreden.

Norris maakte tevens bekend dat hij komend seizoen minder van helmdesign zal wisselen dan vorig jaar en vaker vast zal houden aan zijn standaard geel met donkerblauwe helm, met iets meer geel in het ontwerp voor 2021. Zijn testhelm en zijn vaste helm onthulde hij via onderstaand filmpje:

      Nu ben ik voor McLaren en kom ik hier al geruime tijd, daarom valt het mij op dat je zeer zelden positief uitlaat over McLaren en aanverwante artikelen. Dat mag, maar vraag me wel af waar dit vandaan komt? Gewoon interesse, geen aanval.

      Ach Mr Marly, dit is natuurlijk een grapje. Sportief gezien heb ik helemaal niets tegen McLaren. Talentvolle jongens met personality zoals Lando en Ricciardo zijn een verademing op de grid. Vroeger had ik inderdaad een hekel aan McLaren. In de succesvolle tijd met Ron Dennis was het een verschrikkelijk hooghartig team en heb daarna genoten van de teloorgang van het team. Zak Brown en zeker Seidl hebben het team getransformeerd tot een leuk competatief team en dat is alleen maar toe te juichen. Waar ik wel sarcastisch over doet is de financiële huishouding, want dat is gebaseerd op gebakken lucht. Dus mr. Marley, ik vind het eigenlijk wel meevallen...... :)

      Ik weet niet waarom (heb sinds kort een andere telefoon, misschien dat het ermee temaken heeft), maar blijf lang in het filter hangen en kan geen plusjes geven. Dus bij deze een +je voor de uitleg :-).

    Waarom heeft Norris altijd van die lelijke helm ontwerpen. Zo zonde. Verandert elke race van helm maar ze zijn altijd lelijk.

      Ik ben best wel fan van Norris, maar ik kan niet anders dan je gelijk geven. Het is duidelijk dat hij geïnspireerd is van Rossi en dat is, naast een groot coureur, ook de koning van de wansmaak.

      Mijn favoriete helm van Norris is overigens die ene die dat 6-jarige meisje voor hem had ontworpen, waarop stond:

      RogerZzz, geniaal, hoe de naam van Norris toen ik in de officiële tijdentabel stond, ook met de S een beetje eraan bungelend, net als op zijn helm. Geweldig!!

      Zo zie je maar weer, te doordacht zorgt voor minder gevoel en emotie dan een ontwerp van een 6 jarige. Ik vond die helm echt te gek.
