Ook Fernando Alonso vindt dat er dit jaar geleerd moet worden van F1-kalender

F1-veteraan Fernando Alonso is verbijsterd over de manier waarop de Formule 1 omgaat met annuleringen midden in een strak gepland seizoen van 23 races.

"Het is veel intenser dit jaar op het gebied van racen", vertelde hij aan de Spaanse media.

“Eén van de uitdagingen dit jaar, niet alleen voor mij maar voor iedereen in het team en in de paddock, wordt de 23 races,” vertelde Alonso tegenover DAZN.

Alonso: “We moeten allemaal dat aantal races in het achterhoofd houden want je moet door het jaar heen energie proberen te sparen wanneer dat kan.”

“Zelfs tijdens de maanden juni, augustus, september, zelfs wanneer je je fris voelt, hoe meer energie je spaart des te beter je in november en december zal zijn.”

"We zien dat er enkele races worden afgelast en de week daarna zijn ze al op zoek naar een nieuwe plek om te racen", voegt de Renault-wereldkampioen van 2005 en 2006 eraan toe.

Eerder liet Guenther Steiner van het Haas F1-team al weten dat de 'tripple-headers' wat hem betreft niet de voorkeur hebben omdat het erg veel druk legt op het F1-personeel.
