Norris redelijk tevreden: "Veel betere positie dan vorige week"

Achter het geweld van Mercedes en Max Verstappen presteerde McLaren naar behoren. Op maar een minimaal verschil ten opzichte van de Nederlander kwalificeerde Lando Norris zich als vierde voor de sprintkwalificatie.

Achteraf was Norris gematigd tevreden toen hij zich voor de camera's van de internationale pers meldde: "Ik haat de woorden 'erg dichtbij' omdat dat betekent dat je het niet goed genoeg hebt gedaan. Ik ben blij, we staan op een veel betere positie dan vorige week. Een goeie positie om van te starten. P3 missen is jammer want het zat in de auto."

Ook Norris merkte dat het verkeer weer in grote rol speelde in Monza. Hij was er niet geheel blij mee: "Om eerlijk te zijn was het geen fijne positie om je in te bevinden, iets kan zo snel gebeuren. Je weet niet of ze je zien of niet."
