Norris viel Ricciardo niet aan door Verstappen/Hamilton flashbacks

Lando Norris pakte in Monza het beste resultaat uit zijn nog prille Formule 1-carrière. Hij werd tweede achter zijn winnende McLaren-teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo. Het had natuurlijk ook andersom kunnen zijn maar Norris kreeg over de radio te horen zijn teammaatje maar even te laten zijn voor wat hij was.

Op de gebruikelijke persconferentie met de top 3 werd Norris dan ook gevraagd of hij erover had nagedacht om het radiobericht te negeren. Norris had het niet op de planning staan: "Nee. Ik kwam in een rondje wat dichterbij en ik weet niet waarom maar ik zag het incident tussen Max en Lewis voor me. Ik zag het namelijk best goed in mijn spiegels. Dus toen ik erover nadacht om het te proberen flitste dat door mijn hoofd en ik dacht nee dit is geen wijze beslissing."

Norris was echter niet minder blij met zijn resultaat. Hij had wel willen winnen maar dit was ook mooi: "Ik zou het fantastisch hebben gevonden maar zoals ik al zei ben ik gewoon heel blij met de eerste en tweede plaats. Ik ben er gewoon blij mee."

Als je als coureur niet mee doet voor het kampioenschap dan ga je voor het beste team resultaat. Zowel Lando als Danny hoeven hun kwaliteiten niet te bewijzen. Lando's eerste overwinning is slechts een kwestie van tijd en Daniel had een goed resultaat nodig om het moree... [Lees verder]
