Seidl achter rookie-format: "We zijn heel erg blij met het plan"

Het is inmiddels een bekend idee van de hoge heren van de Formule 1: het verplichten van het inzetten van jonge coureurs in de vrije trainingen. Of de teams erachter staan is nog de vraag. Ze hebben in ieder geval al één team mee gekregen: McLaren.

Mclaren-teambaas Andreas Seidl staat tenminste wel achter het plan. In gesprek met Autosport.com spreekt hij zich uit: "We staan achter het idee om verplichte sessies na het seizoen of zelfs tijdens de vrije trainingen te doen met rookies. Het is heel moeilijk voor rookies om tegenwoordig meters te maken met de gelimiteerde tests."

McLaren zal dan ook in de gesprekken met de andere teams en de hoge heren duidelijk maken dol te zijn op het plan: "We zijn heel erg blij met het plan en we willen het dan ook meer promoten in de gesprekken met de andere teams, de FIA en de F1 die gaande zijn. Ik denk dat we gaan kijken welke coureurs we een kans zouden geven in onze auto. Dat proces is gaande op het moment. Daar ben ik heel erg blij mee."

    Waarom weer verplichten? Het is aan de teams zelf een test aan te bieden als ze heil zien in een talent. Net zoals bij Max gebeurde in 2014

    McLaren is voor, maar er staat wel na het seizoen, of tijdens de trainingen, verwacht er maar niet teveel van.

    Brawn wil volgend seizoen zeven sprintrace weekends. De fans zijn zooo enthousiast!!
    Na VT1 is het Parc Fermé van kracht.
    Laat dán de rookies een VT1 rijden, zodat de eigen coureurs de wagen niet goed afkunnen stellen, wat met één VT sowieso al moeilijk is.

    Spanning en sensatie verzekerd in de "kwalificatie" op vrijdag en tijdens de race.
    Helemaal als de rookie ook nog crasht en er een langdurige rode vlag komt.

    Of de rookies een X-aantal GP’s per seizoen voorafgaand aan vt1 een uurtje over het circuit laten brommen.
    Zal natuurlijk passen en meten worden met het voorprogramma in de ochtend maar waar een wil is, is een weg.

    Dat wordt dan de vt0...

    Misschien heb ik een persoonlijke afwijking maar ik krijg echt jeuk van de term hoge heren. Het heeft iets denigrerends en niks zeggends.

    Word een beetje moe van al die ideeën. Vrije trainingen eerst inkorten, dan VT3 opheffen ( sprintweekenden zullen er gaan komen ), en dan moet je ook nog een verplicht een rookie inzetten terwijl ze tegelijkertijd de budgetcap steeds verder omlaag willen brengen. Dat is ook lekker als ze 4 auto's opvouwen. Het rijmt allemaal voor geen meter met elkaar. Met de huidige regels werkt dit plan niet dus er zal heel wat moeten veranderen. Drie motoren waarbij je niet aan een straf ontkomt is al belachelijk nu en dat zal dan al helemaal omhoog moeten. Er komt dus flink wat bij kijken. Teams zullen het flink oneens gaan worden.

    Hoe werkt die budgetcap? Gaat een kapotte wielophanging definitief van je budget af of mag je die compenseren door de miljoenen die een rookie meebrengt om in vt1 wat rondjes te rijden?
