Marko kijkt in zijn glazenbol: "We verwachten een tweestopper"

Dat het spannend gaat worden in Austin lijkt wel duidelijk. De bandenstrategie gaat waarschijnlijk weer een grote rol spelen. Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko merkt dat de bandenslijtage wel heel snel gaat. De Oostenrijker heeft dan ook zo zijn verwachtingen voor zondag.

Op COTA zag Marko dat de verwachtingen over bandenslijtage waarheid werden. Tegenover Auto, Motor und Sport spreekt hij zich uit: "De medium en de softband slijten echt heel vlot. We verwachten een tweestopper tijdens de race. De teams die de beste controle hebben over de banden zullen ook vooraan rijden."

Op de vrijdag merkte Marko dat er ook nog eens wat moeilijkheden waren met de set-up. Maar dat euveltje was al snel weer verholpen: "Het is lastig om de juiste set-up te vinden voor de auto. In de ochtend hadden we geen grip, vooral niet in de langzame bochten. Toen hebben we dat aangepast en dat hielp."
