Verstappen ziet Le Mans met vader wel zitten: "We praten er wel eens over"

Max Verstappen is alweer zeven seizoenen actief in de Formule 1. Zijn loopbaan in de koningsklasse van de autosport zit er nog lang niet op maar dat betekent niet dat hij droomt van andere klassen. Zo ziet de Red Bull-coureur een Le Mans-deelname met zijn vader Jos wel zitten.

Verstappen senior gaat in januari zijn helm weer oppakken om mee te doen aan de 24 uur van Dubai. De endurance-ervaring zat er al in bij Jos Verstappen en Max geeft ook aan dat het onderwerp niet onbesproken blijft. Hij spreekt zich uit bij Motorsport.com: "Ja, we praten er wel eens over."

De Red Bull-coureur houdt het zaakje in ieder geval stevig in de gaten: "De Hypercars zijn er nu maar er zijn meer deelnemers nodig voordat dat volledig gevestigd is. Ik denk dat het nog een paar jaar duurt voordat ik een helderder beeld krijg van wat ik op Le Mans wil zou willen doen. Het is iets wat ik zeker zou willen doen in de toekomst. Natuurlijk zou dat fantastisch zijn als ik het met mijn vader kon doen."
