Norris laat Engeland achter zich en gaat in Monaco wonen

Lando Norris is inmiddels bezig om een gevestigde naam te worden in de Formule 1. De jonge Britse McLaren-coureur rijdt een puik seizoen en staat momenteel op een keurige vijfde plaats in de WK-stand. Hij is dan ook van mening dat hij toe is aan een volgende stap in zijn carrière. 

Norris heeft namelijk besloten om een redelijk gebruikelijke move te maken. Hij gaat namelijk verhuizen. Hij laat het vertrouwde Engeland achter zich en gaat wonen in Monaco. In het prinsendom komt hij veel van zijn collega's tegen die daar al jaren resideren. 

Niet makkelijk

Norris is niet te beroerd om even te reageren op zijn move. Bij Autosport spreekt hij zich uit: "Ik hou van Engeland. Het is nog steeds de plek waar ik het liefste ben. Mijn familie en vrienden wonen daar. Ik heb het al vaker gezegd maar lol en genot ,en genieten van wat ik doe, hebben de prioriteit over het maken van dit soort beslissingen. Dus het was geen makkelijke beslissing. Ik denk er al jaren over na."

Geld

De McLaren-coureur loopt niet weg voor het feit dat Monaco financieel gezien veel gunstiger is dan Engeland. Hij is zich ervan bewust: "Natuurlijk begrijp ik dat er wat kritiek gaat komen. Maar mensen doen veel dingen in hun leven voor geld. Dit is er eentje van."

      als ik m tegenkom, dan neem ik die horloge gewoon mee met Lando en al,
      de horloge ga ik lekker zelf dragen, en ik kijk verder nog wel wat ik met Lando doe...

      Gewoon wat je altijd doet, een paar compromitterende foto's maken met drank, drugs en lady boys.
      Vervolgens Lando inzetten voor race fixing.
      Hoe vaak moet ik je er aan herinneren dat, na Pete's heengaan, jij verantwoordelijk bent voor de gok divisie.

      Monaco is levensgevaarlijk, het stikt daar van de tokkies. Met name die Verstappen zorgt daar voor gigantisch veel overlast, en scheurt daar letterlijk rond alsof hij denkt dat hij daar de baas is.

    Ja Norris, mensen doen veel voor geld. Werken bijvoorbeeld... Maar wie naar Monaco verhuist, maakt van zijn centen, meer centen, gewoon omdat het kan. Monaco boven vrienden en de plek waar je van houdt plaatsen, is ingegeven door boekhouders die hun graantje meepikken. Hoog tijd voor vermogensbelasting. Er is geen andere manier om de kloof tussen rijk en arm te dichten. Vindt iedereen nobel, totdat je zelf geld met overschot hebt. Monaco, leuke GP, maar tegelijkertijd een oord van verderf. Heb daar echt wel moeite mee... Niet de schuld van Norris natuurlijk. Maar wanneer zit Monaco nu eens overvol?

      Monaco zit nooit overvol, omdat de allerrijksten de iets mindere rijken gewoon simpelweg uitkopen with an offer they can't refuse.
