Marko maakt zich niet druk: "Veranderingen voor long runs waren te extreem"

Red Bull Racing kan dit weekend de wereldtitel pakken met hun kopman Max Verstappen. Tijdens de eerste vrije trainingen waren de resultaten wisselvallend te noemen. Verstappen was in de eerste training de snelste op de baan maar moest in de Nederlandse middag genoegen nemen met de vierde tijd.

Teamadviseur Helmut Marko maakt zich echter allesbehalve zorgen. De Oostenrijker ziet alles nog wel goed komen. Bij Motorsport-Magazin spreekt hij zich uit: "In de eerste training waren we het snelste over een rondje en in de tweede training waren we het snelste tijdens de long runs."

Vooral tijdens de tweede vrije training verliep niet alles van een leien dakje voor het Oostenrijkse topteam: "De veranderingen voor de long runs waren, laten we zeggen nogal te extreem. Daardoor werkte het een en ander met de bandentemperatuur en de verwachtingen voor de snelste ronde niet."

Max had pech wanneer Mercedes en Lewis fouten maakte. Nu is Mercedes weer op niveau en kan RB beetje hopen op wonder.
Dat Max überhaupt meestrijd is al een god zegen na al die middelmatige f1 coureurs na Jos. Dat ik dit mag meemaken.
