Häkkinen het ijs op voor ROC-trainingsritje

Aankomend weekend staat de prestigieuze 'Race of Champions' weer op het programma. Het bijzondere evenement wordt dit jaar verreden op sneeuw en ijs in Pite Havsbad, Zweden. Het deelnemersveld kent zeer veel grote namen en ook vanuit de Formule 1-wereld doen enkele coureurs mee. Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher en Valtteri Bottas staan op de deelnemerslijst.

Ook enkele oud-coureurs reizen af naar het hoge noorden. Onder hen ook tweevoudig Formule 1-wereldkampioen Mika Häkkinen. De Fin heeft al geruime tijd niet op competitief niveau deelgenomen aan een race. Häkkinen zal ook gelijk kennis maken met de voor hem nieuwe bolides.

Vandaag wordt er al getest op het Zweedse ijs en Häkkinen laat zien dat hij het kunstje nog niet verleerd is. Op beelden die de organisatie van ROC online deelt is te zien dat de Fin het gaspedaal nog weet te vinden.
