Marko geeft inkijkje contract Verstappen: "Er bestaat een ontsnappingsclausule"

Zoals bekend heeft Max Verstappen een megacontract getekend bij Red Bull tot en met 2028. Geruchten over ontsnappingsclausules kwamen gelijk op gang, maar tot op heden bleef het Oostenrijkse team schimmig over de inhoud.

Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko bevestigt echter tegenover het Duitse Formel1 dat de wereldkampioen toch zijn contract kan verscheuren onder bepaalde voorwaarden. "Natuurlijk. Als Red Bull net als in 2014 een soort 'crash' beleeft, dan bestaat er uiteraard een ontsnappingsclausule", zo laat de 78-jarige adviseur optekenen.

Van 2010 tot en met 2013 veroverden Red Bull Racing beide wereldtitels met behulp van Renault. In 2014 was de start van het hybride-tijdperk, maar het team uit Milton Keynes kon absoluut geen vuist maken tegen de oppermachtige krachtbron en bolide van Mercedes. Red Bull kon jaren lang niet wedijveren met de Duitsers uit Stuttgart om de titels. Mocht er opnieuw een periode van droogte aanbreken, dan kan Verstappen een deurtje verder kijken.

Toch zet zo’n artikel me aan het denken. Ik ben in mijn huwelijkscontract gaan kijken of bij een periode van droogte bij mijn vrouw er een mogelijkheid is om een deurtje verder te kijken.

      Voor jou is dat wellicht niet zo belangrijk @Verstoppen of allang bekend.

      Maar voor nieuwe, nog niet zo ingevoerde F1-fans kan deze quote voor geruststelling zorgen.

      Ook al speelt het nu niet omdat RB de boot niet heeft gemist…

      Van een huwelijkscontract kun je heel makkelijk af @Snork.

      Het kan nog aardig wat en lang gedonder geven, maar je hebt er zelfs geen clausule voor nodig…

    Verstappen zit goed waar hij zit en zolang het goed gaat - zal hij ook blijven. Anders kan hij altijd nog met Ferrari of Benz praten.. Die zullen zeker geen nee tegen hem zeggen. Maar ja, het is nu nog te vroeg om dat allemaal te doen.
