Häkkinen leeft mee: "Max zal niet blij zijn"

De Australische Grand Prix van afgelopen weekend was op meerdere fronten zeer interessant. Het leek erop dat er weer een groots duel tussen Ferrari en Red Bull Racing zou ontstaan, iedereen met die hoop kwam echter van een koude kermis thuis. Charles Leclerc domineerde de race en Red Bull stelde teleur.

Leclerc reed de gehele race aan de leiding en grote rivaal Max Verstappen kwam amper in de buurt van de Monegask. Het weekend werd alleen maar moeilijker voor de Nederlander want hij kreeg wederom te maken met problemen. Verstappen moest zijn Red Bull aan de kant van de baan parkeren en zijn race zat erop. Het gaf Leclerc de kans om simpel de race te winnen en zijn voorsprong in het WK uit te breiden.

Wereldwijd genoten in ieder geval vele miljoenen mensen van de race. Ook tweevoudig wereldkampioen Mika Häkkinen viel het één en ander op. In zijn column voor Unibet is de Fin zeer duidelijk: "Er is zoveel interessants gebeurd tijdens deze race. Leclerc had de complete controle en zei na afloop dat de auto zeer sterk aanvoelde. De banden werkten goed mee en dat gaf het een constante performance. Elke topcoureur wil dat, een auto die van start tot finish heel snel is en reageert op alles wat je doet."

Verstappen

Häkkinen zag daarnaast ook dat Leclercs rivaal Max Verstappen door het ijs zakte. De problemen lagen niet zozeer aan de Nederlander maar meer aan zijn materiaal. Hij viel voor de tweede keer in drie races uit met mechanische problemen en dat is problematisch. Häkkinen: "Charles heeft twee overwinningen en een tweede plaats gepakt tijdens de eerste drie Grands Prix. Max Verstappen heeft twee uitvalbeurten en één overwinningen gescoord. Op dit niveau kan je je dit soort technische problemen niet permitteren. Max zal niet blij zijn."

En hij lijkt erop dat het onderdeeltjes uit de knakenbak zijn die stuk gaan.
Daar kun je echt helemaal niets mee.
Je weet gewoon niet wat er de volgende keer stuk gaat.
Ze gaan dus ivm de betrouwbaarheid de boel terugschroeven wat ze nog meer op achterstand zet.
En als ze medelijden gaan krijgen met je is de situatie helemaal wanhopig.
Ik zou de sfeer niet willen proeven daar nu.

  Of ze dit jaar nog voor de titel kunnen gaan is wel een vraagteken maar dat is autosport. De middellange en lange termijn toekomst ziet er voor RB gewoon goed uit en iedereen is daar gemotiveerd en gefocust om zsm weer mee te doen. Twee weken tot de volgende GP is in F1 termen een zee van tijd. Laten we maar even afwachten. Vooralsnog stonden ze dit seizoen al op pole, hebben een overwinning en een tweede plaats gescoord en zijn overall de enige die Ferrari kunnen bevechten.

  @Meister; lullige onderdeeltjes die stuk gaan; het kan elk team overkomen nu er met compleet nieuwe auto's en brandstof gereden wordt. Onderdeeltjes van een euro die normaal niet kapot gaan hebben Mercedes ook wel eens geteisterd. Je kunt het bijna niet meer voor zijn omdat er amper getest mag worden. Het vervelende is dat een falende hydraulische koppeling op een F1 hetzelfde effect heeft als een PU die in rook opgaat; DNF. En ook die Ferrari gaat wel een keer kapot, er is nog niks verloren. Alleen als Leclerc 1e en 2e plaatsen blijft scoren (en snelste rondes) loop je maar heel langzaam in.🤷‍♂️
