Horner glundert: "Eén van onze beste prestaties ooit"

Het team van Red Bull Racing sloeg afgelopen weekend keihard terug na een lastige seizoenstart. Het Oostenrijkse team kende een lastige start aangezien Max Verstappen tweemaal in kansrijke positie uitviel. In Imola vielen alle puzzeltjes echter op de juiste plaats en pakte men een werkelijke monsterscore.

Max Verstappen won namelijk zowel de sprint als de race. Hij pakte beide zeges op indrukwekkend wijze, op zaterdag vocht hij zich terug na een slechte start en gisteren controleerde hij de race. Zijn Red Bull-teamgenoot Sergio Perez kwam eveneens sterk voor de dag en kwam als tweede over de lijn in de race. In de sprint was hij ook bloedsnel en kwam hij na een inhaalrace als derde over de lijn.

Maximumscore

Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner was in de wolken met geweldige prestaties van zijn twee coureurs. De Brit prees Verstappen en Perez na afloop tegenover de internationale media: "Het is echt fantastisch en het is ook maar één punt minder dan de mogelijke maximumscore van het gehele weekend. We hadden een 1-3 gisteren, vandaag een mooie 1-2 en de snelste ronde. Dit was wat we nodig hadden na de teleurstellingen in Australië van een paar weken geleden."

Teamperformance

De prestaties van Red Bull in Imola brengt het team weer helemaal terug in de titelstrijd. Verstappen staat nu tweede in de strijd om het wereldkampioenschap en Red Bull staat bij de constructeurs nog maar 11 punten achter op Ferrari. Het maakt Horner alleen maar trotser: "Het was echt een fenomenale teamperformance omdat we een risico namen bij het ingaan van dit weekend. We hebben een paar nieuwe, kleine onderdelen geïntroduceerd. Het is altijd lastig als je maar één training hebt maar we hebben vanaf het begin de aanval ingezet. Allebei de coureurs waren ongelofelijk, Max en Checo reden briljant."

Credits

De prestaties in Imola volgen na een listig weekend in Australië. De champagne smaakt Horner en consorten dan ook heel erg goed. "Alle credits gaan naar het team na dit 1-2tje. Het was vandaag een briljante strategie, maar ook op de fabriek in Milton Keynes is er hard gewerkt. Het feit dat we zelf zijn opgestaan na de teleurstellingen in Australië, is één van onze beste prestaties ooit."

tegenwoordig een dubbel pakken is gewoon een zeldzaamheid! en met de oppermachtige Mercedes de afgelopen jaren alleen voorbehouden aan dit merk, sinds 2016 had RB geen dubbel meer gepakt.
gelukkig voor RB dat het gisteren wel lukte en dat was meer als verdiend!

  Ik denk dag het zeldzamer is, dat er dubbels door verschillende teams in 1 seizoen worden gescoord.
  Vond de dubbel van mcLaren vorig jaar op Monza ook wel zeldzaam, en zeker heel erg onverwacht toen.

En terecht, een puike prestatie na de tegenslagen.
Topteam met topcoureurs = succes

Ik wil nog zien of fer dit te boven is. Hun houvast zal zijn dat er nog andere soort banen komen die de fer beter liggen.

Het heeft drie races geduurd maar het is weer Gewoon business as usual De Ferrari kunnen niet harder en Mercedes op grote achterstand in het Wk is het dit seizoen gewoon rustig uit rijden en een 1-2 in de eindstand voor het wereldkampioenschap..
