Norris heeft onwijs veel zin in Miami: "Het wordt zo gaaf"

McLaren-coureur Lando Norris kan niet wachten totdat het eerste Grand Prix-weekend in Miami start. "Ik heb veel zin in dit weekend", aldus de Brit.

De baan is spiksplinternieuw en dat de wedstrijd in de V.S. wordt gehouden, maakt het extra speciaal. "Nieuwe circuits zijn altijd iets waar ik naar uitkijk, en als je alle heisa rond een Amerikaanse race toevoegt, met name in Miami, wordt het zo gaaf."

Over het 5.4 kilometer lange circuit, is Norris nu al enthousiast. "Het ziet er snel uit met een aantal geweldige elementen en met dat op een stratencircuit, wordt het een leuke uitdaging."

McLaren begon dit seizoen erg stroef, maar wist de weg naar voren te vinden. Met als positeve uitschieter een derde plek in Imola. Dat smaakt naar meer aldus Norris. "Ik hoop het momentum vast te houden. Hoewel de podiumplaats niet bepaald werd verwacht, is het een bewijs van het harde werk en de vastberadenheid van het team op het circuit en terug in de fabriek."

Ik ben blij met de (een beetje een gek woord) heropstanding van McLaren. Even dacht ik dat dit een rampjaar zou worden, maar ze hebben het toch snel omgedraaid. En voor mij is F1 net even leuker met McLarens voorin het veld, dan achterin het veld... zeker met een toptalent als Norris achter het s... [Lees verder]
