McLaren onthult indrukwekkende line-up voor Goodwood Festival of Speed

Vandaag is in Goodwood het Festival of Speed afgetrapt. Het event op het landgenoot van Goodwood is een jaarlijks hoogtepunt voor veel liefhebbers, automerken, raceteams en coureurs. Het Festival of Speed duurt vier dagen en meerdere Formule 1-teams zijn ook dit jaar weer aanwezig in Engeland.

Het team van McLaren stuurt dit jaar geen huidige Formule 1-coureur naar het event. Wel deelt het team dat er een zeer bijzondere line-up aanwezig zal zijn op Goodwood. Een grote hoeveelheid legendarische bolides en coureurs zal namelijk aanwezig zijn. Ook McLaren maakt daar gebruik van en het zal een bijzondere ervaring worden voor de toeschouwers.

Tweevoudig Formule 1-wereldkampioen Mika Häkkinen zal namelijk een bijzondere demorun verzorgen ook de zondag in Goodwood. De Fin zal namelijk achter het stuur kruipen van de McLaren MP4-5B, de wagen waarmee Ayrton Senna in 1990 wereldkampioen werd. Ook de legendarische McLaren F1 GTR zal de heuvel op worden gestuurd. Hiervoor heeft McLaren Extreme E-coureur Emma Gilmour geselecteerd. Formule 1-coureurs George Russell en Guanyu Zhou zullen namens hun teams Mercedes en Alfa Romeo ook enkele demoruns uitvoeren.
