Horner duidelijk over zijn werk: "Ik ben meer een klassieke teambaas"

Exact. Gisteren meteen even bekeken en was leuk om te zien hoe Horner zich opstelt als zowel CEO als teambaas.
Horner blijft altijd beleefd overigens, dus je moet geen hele rake uitspraken over concurrenten, oud-coureurs, etc. van hem verwachten. Maar af een toe een steek onder water richting Mercedes kon hij toch niet laten. :-)

Snailer kwam er zaterdag al mee, ere wie ere toekomt.

Ik vind dat niet belangrijk, Patrick. Maar wel fijn dat je aan me denkt! Dat op zich vind ik dan wel fijn.

Overigens is er ook 1 van Wolff een paar jaar terug. Ook ca een uur en ook van Camdrige Union. Die was niet minder interessant.

Twee mannen die niet de beste racers uwaren, dat inzagen en vervolgens veel maakten uit hun vervolg. Wolff zijn capitaal ken ik niet. Horner heeft ondertussen een capitaal opgebouwd van 200 miljoen.

Zeer succesvolle zakenmannen en vervolgens ook de twee meest succesvolle teambazen.

Piastri die een test doet met leuke achtergrondinformatie van de mensen in dat test team. Is wel in het Duits. Echter het slechtst te volgen (nog steeds goed hoor) was een stukje interview van de test manager. En dat was in eh... perfect acceptloos Engels. hahaha.

Hoe dan ook heb ik een vraag. Gaan dit soort tests af van het budget? Want er werd verteld dat ze voor Piastri 10 tests of zo, of zei hij negen, hadden gepland dit jaar. Vond het behoorlijk wat en erg goed van Alpine om zoveel energie in Piastri te steken. Die komt dadelijk net zo goed voorbereid binnen als Hamilton toen tertijd.

Wel apart als dit bij het budget hoort.

Geen excuses nodig, Pietje. Ik had niet gereageerd als Patrick er niet mee was gekomen.

Ik ben vooral blij dat er hier een aantal zijn die fijne info delen met ons. Zal dus nooit op dat gebied iets doen om het te ontmoedigen.

Als zo'n test niet van de budgetcap af gaat, dan zouden ze dat toch veel vaker doen?

Ik heb het interview ook op kijkbuis gekeken en ik vond het niet zo interessant eerlijk gezegd. Inderdaad wat steken onder water naar Mercedes en dat vind ik dan weer niet nodig. Vorig jaar is vorig jaar en bovendien niet professioneel. Uiteraard mogen wij als forumers wel Wolff en Horner voor alles en nog wat uitmaken, maar zij niet ;)

Kiddin natuurlijk, maar toch vond ik dat niet nodig. Hoewel ik het wel degelijk kan begrijpen moet je er soms toch boven staan. Iets met spreken / zwijgen / zilver / goud

Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the high-performance engineering arm of Red Bull Racing Group, today announced details of its first hypercar project designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in-house. Created by Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Oracle Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the RB17 is a two-seat hypercar optimized for the ultimate on-track driving experience. Just 50 RB17s will be made at the Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes, with production scheduled to commence in 2025.

Christian Horner, CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, added: “The RB17 marks an important milestone in the evolution of Red Bull Advanced Technologies, now fully capable of creating and manufacturing a series production car at our Red Bull Technology Campus. Further, the RB17 marks the first time that a car wearing the Red Bull brand has been available to collectors.”

Powered by a V8 hybrid engine developing over 1,100bhp, the RB17 takes its inspiration – and name – from the cars that Red Bull Racing has campaigned in the world’s most demanding and technically advanced motorsport series. Designed around a carbon-composite tub, the RB17 features the most advanced ground effect package available in a series production car. Pricing starts at £5M (plus applicable local taxes) with just 50 collectors set to become owners of the RB17. That ownership includes more than the car, bringing a close association with the Red Bull Racing team through access to simulators, vehicle program development and on-track training and experiences. The RB17 will be supported directly by the factory, with servicing and maintenance support tailored to each owner and their usage profile for the car.

Mijn uitgebreide post komt weer eens niet door, maar hier kunnen dus de mensen terecht die vanwege de budgetcap ontslagen zouden worden.

Er zijn wat negatiev berichten hier van de tijgers over Horner. Maar dit is precies wat Horner doet. Hij luistert naar wat zijn mensen willen en maakt dan de weg vrij om dergelijke dingen ook te ondersteunen. Newey was al lang weggeweest indien Horner al die uitstapjes van Newey niet had toegelaten.

Ik weet haast zeker dat die motor baas die van Mercedes kwam juist met dit vooruitzicht toch voor Red Bull koos. Die had namelijk als doel dingen te doen in groene energie. Red Bull gaat hem daar voor zeker in ondersteunen.

Dit is een soort next level Valkyrie waar Newey zich weer helemaal op heeft kunnen uitleven.

Ik heb even gebrowsed. Er zijn verschillende v8 twin turbo's. Cadillac, Ford (zal wel de zelfde zijn), Mercedes en een jap.

Van de RB17 is verder niets bekend. Ook niet hoe die er uit gaat zien. De aankondiging was volgens mij een preview. Althans op kijkbuis waren de video's previews.
