Horner houdt rekening met dominant Ferrari: "Zijn het hele jaar al snel"

Red Bull Racing had vandaag wederom het nakijken ten opzichte van Ferrari in de trainingen. Het Italiaanse team is het hele seizoen al competitief maar wist slechts een aantal races te winnen en kijkt in het kampioenschap tegen een flinke achterstand op Max Verstappen.

Hoewel Verstappen een voorsprong heeft, is men bij Red Bull zich ervan bewust dat Ferrari een zeer snelle auto heeft gebouwd en benadrukken zowel coureurs als teambaas dat het kampioenschap zeker geen walk-over zal worden.

Na de trainingen op vrijdag was Christian Horner onder de indruk van de snelheid van Ferrari: "Ze zijn het hele jaar al heel snel. We zien ook dit weekend dat ze zeer competitief zijn."

Red Bull experimenteerde met hun afstelling, maar Ferrari lijkt ook een experiment te hebben uitgevoerd, zo stelt de Britse teambaas: "Er was één specifiek ronde waar ze mogelijk het motorvermogen omhoog hebben gegooid, dat was de eerste ronde op nieuwe banden."

Zondag worden punten verdeeld

Hoewel het er in eerste instantie niet optimaal uitziet, zegt Horner dat de racesimulaties een goed beeld geven: "We zien er competitief uit op de medium en zachte banden. De lange runs waren best in orde. Die stint was slechts 5 ronden, maar we hebben daar veel data verzameld. Ons grootste probleem zit in de derde sector. Daar moeten we ons echt verbeteren, en dat lijkt te maken te hebben met onderstuur en de voorkant van de auto."

  Onzin, de feiten spreken voor zich hoor, Ferrari absoluut de snellere wagen, en eigenlijk al het gehele jaar, het is dat Verstappen briljant is. maar anders was Ferrari simpel met beide titels weggelopen.

  Ik loop inmiddels hier lang genoeg rond om te weten dat je altijd gelijk hebt wanneer het op Max aankomt. Je hebt daarom gelijk. Max staat op de eerste plek en zoveel punten voor vanwege zijn briljante wijze van rijden. Geen speld tussen te krijgen😉😅

  Monza, eens, Ferrari heeft ook gewoon 2 zeer sterke rijders, mee eens hoor. maar het begint mij te veel op verleden jaar te lijken, een 1 mansleger die het weer moet opnemen tegen de rest.

  Ach daar heb je roy weer met zijn paradepaardje. Als Max wint komt het door Max in een mindere auto en verliest Max dan komt het door die mindere rbr auto. En fer reeds met beide titels weg gelopen, hopelijk is dat niet series bedoeld.
  Op race pace en snelheid is de rbr auto superieur en de laatste races heeft fer de aansluiting heeft gevonden.
  Je kunt ook een keer de credits geven aan de betere qualifier en topcoureur lec die alles uit die fer haalt.
