Norris bedankt afzwaaiende Ricciardo: "Super fijn om met je samen te werken"

Gisteren kwam McLaren met het nieuws dat Daniel Ricciardo aan het einde van dit seizoen het team gaat verlaten. Het nieuws hing al geruime tijd in de lucht en was zeker geen verrassing. Ricciardo presteert al het gehele seizoen zeer matig en blijft ver achter op zijn teamgenoot Lando Norris. De Brit dankt zijn teamgenoot dan ook.

Het aankomende vertrek van Ricciardo zet de deur wagenwijd open voor zijn landgenoot Oscar Piastri. De talentvolle coureur ontkende eerder een contract bij Alpine en lijkt dus zijn zinnen te hebben gezet op het McLaren-zitje. Voordat men de komst van Piastri gaat aankondigen wordt er eerst uitgebreid afscheid genomen van Ricciardo.

Ook Norris bedankt zijn afzwaaiende teamgenoot. De talentvolle Britse coureur kan het goed vinden met Ricciardo en schreef gisteren een bedankboodschap op Twitter: "Wat een rit Daniel. Van het moment in Monza, tot de lol die we deelden naast de auto, het was echt super fijn om met jou samen te werken in de afgelopen twee jaar. Wat er ook op je pad gaat komen, ik wens je er het beste mee. Laten we er iets moois van maken in de laatste paar maanden."

Natuurlijk vond Norris het mooi om Daniel te hebben als teammaat. Net zoals Hamilton altijd zo blij was met Bottas en Max zo blij is met Perez.
