Steiner toont interesse in Ricciardo: "Heb nog niet met hem gesproken"

De zomerstop werd dit jaar gekenmerkt door een enorme transfercarrousel. In de laatste week van de zomerstop kwam het team van McLaren ook met groot nieuws over de positie van Daniel Ricciardo naar buiten. Men maakte namelijk bekend dat de Australiër na dit jaar het team gaat verlaten.

Met de aankondiging van het vertrek van Ricciardo zet McLaren de deur wijd open voor Oscar Piastri. De getalenteerde coureur ontkende in de zomerstop een contract bij Alpine en lijkt zijn zinnen te hebben gezet op het McLaren-stoeltje. Beide teams beweren over een geldig contract te beschikken en maandag buigt een speciale commissie van de FIA zich over de zaak. Ricciardo moet ondertussen gaan nadenken over zijn toekomst.

Gesprekken

Hij wil het liefst in de Formule 1 blijven maar zijn opties zijn beperkt. Het team van Haas heeft het contract van Mick Schumacher nog niet verlengt en heeft dus een stoeltje over. In gesprek met Sky Sports spreekt Haas-teambaas Günther Steiner zich uit: "Vanuit mijn positie zal ik met iedereen moeten spreken. Tot nu toe heb ik niet met Daniel gesproken. Ik denk dat we wachten tot na dit weekend om te kijken of hij alles al heeft laten bezinken en om na te gaan wat hij wil. Daar heb ik momenteel nog geen idee van."

Mick Schumacher heeft nog geen contract voor aankomend seizoen maar dat betekent niet dat men bij Haas hem vergeten is. Steiner benadrukt wel dat zijn plekje voor 2023 nog vacant is: "Ja, er is bij ons een zitje vrij. We weten nog niet wie we daar in gaan zetten. We hebben er op dit moment al een coureur inzitten en kan kan ook zomaar het geval zijn dat hij dat stoeltje gaat behouden."

het schijnt dat de grote baas van alpine liever gasly in zijn team wil hebben dan ricciardo. maar ik hoop dat hij bij mercedes terecht kan als hamilton in 2024 met pensioen gaat.

Gisteren hoorde ik een interview met Stainer. Op de vraag of hij Mick Schumacher graag wilde behouden begon der Gunther gigantisch te draaien om maar geen antwoord te geven. Voor mij is het wel duidelijk dat ze bij Haas wel klaar zijn met Mick.

Zou een goede zet zijn voor beide partijen denk ik. Als Ric zn mojo terugvind athans. Veel slechter als Schumacher zal die het niet doen toch? Mick vind ik F1 onwaardig dus laat 'm gaan. Of zet 'm naast Tsunoda als Gasly alsnog naar Alpine gaat.

Voor Ric zou een overstap naar Williams mij ook wel wat lijken. Een "grote" naam kan daar de boel misschien wel weer motiveren.

Ik denk dat Haas een leuk team is om voor te werken en ook een team waarmee je heel af en toe een succesje kan halen. Het is geen team dat steeds uitspreekt dat het kampioen wil worden in jaar 20 nog wat. Dat vind ik nogal vermoeiend bij de teams als Alpine, AM en ook Mclaren. Je weet dat het nooit gaat gebeuren omdat Mercedes, Ferrari en RB zoveel voor liggen dat de kans op een kampioenschap enorm klein is maar wel altijd de druk opvoeren richting de buitenwereld en coureurs. Ricciardo kan nog een paar jaar lol hebben bij Haas, genieten van de F1 en af en toe een dagsuccesje. Wat wil je nog meer als je toch niet meer bij de grote 3 terecht kan.

Nou steek ik niet onder stoelen of banken dat ik niet gecharmeerd ben van Ricciardo, maar ze moeten hem 'n enkele reis naar Australië geven.....hup, weg ermee.

  Probleem met Riciardo is dat hij geen auto kan ontwikkelen of afstellen, hij moet een perfecte auto krijgen en dan kan hij hard gaan.
