Horner leef toe naar kwalificatie: "Zal krap worden tussen de drie teams"

In de derde vrije training op het circuit van Zandvoort was het wederom zeer close tussen de teams van Red Bull Racing, Ferrari en Mercedes. Het heeft er dan ook alle schijn van dat het een zeer spannende kwalificatie gaat worden. De verschillen zijn klein en geen enkel team is de echte top favoriet.

In de derde vrije training werd de snelste tijd genoteerd door Ferrari-coureur Charles Leclerc. De Monegask was echter nipt sneller dan de concurrentie van Mercedes en Red Bull. George Russell en Max Verstappen waren immers slechts een fractie van een seconde langzamer. Opvallend genoeg waren de verschillen over het gehele veld zeer klein.

Ook Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner durft zijn geld nog niet op één van de teams te zetten. De Brit was na afloop nog niet zeker van zijn zaakjes. Na de derde vrije training sprak hij met Viaplay: "Het is een zeer verschillend circuit vergeleken met Spa, het is meer te vergelijken met Hongarije. Het zal heel erg krap gaan worden tussen de drie teams. Het wordt dus belangrijk om alles voor elkaar te krijgen op het laatste setje banden."
