Het team van Alpine kende gisteren een zeer ongelukkige sprint in Brazilië. Esteban Ocon en Fernando Alonso raakten elkaar in de openingsronde waardoor Alonso de pits op moest zoeken met schade aan zijn voorvleugel. Ocon zakte vervolgens ver terug in de sprint en finishte als achttiende.

Het werd uiteindelijk alleen maar erger voor de Fransman want na afloop van de sprint ging het wederom helemaal mis voor Ocon. Eenmaal aangekomen in het parc fermé vatte zijn wagen namelijk vlam. De marshalls waren snel ter plekke en wisten het vuurtje te blussen. De Alpine had echter al eventjes in brand gestaan dus de schade was aanwezig.
