Marko complimenteert Verstappen: "Je kunt altijd rekenen op Max"

Het team van Red Bull Racing kende dit jaar een zeer succesvol seizoen. Max Verstappen veroverde zijn tweede wereldtitel en schonk Red Bull voor het eerst sinds 2013 de constructeurstitel. Teamadviseur Helmut Marko zag dan ook dat men altijd kon rekenen op de prestaties van Verstappen.

De Nederlandse Red Bull-coureur kende het sterkste seizoen uit zijn Formule 1-loopbaan. Met een fikse voorsprong op zijn concurrenten werd Verstappen wereldkampioen en hij verbrak tevens meerdere records. Verstappen scoorde het hoogste puntenaantal ooit en hij pakte tevens het record van de meeste Grand Prix-zeges in één seizoen. De Nederlander won dit jaar namelijk vijftien Grands Prix.

Rekenen op Max

Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko is trots op de Nederlandse wereldkampioen. Marko is van mening dat Verstappen zijn team nooit laat zakken. In gesprek met de Duitse media spreekt Marko zich uit: "Je kunt onder de streep altijd rekenen op Max Verstappen. Hij presteert altijd. Zijn eerste wereldtitel veroverde hij met het mes tussen de tanden. Zijn tweede wereldtitel haalde hij veel makkelijker binnen."

Bandenmanagement

Marko zag dat Verstappen dit seizoen veel beter presteerde dan voorheen. De Oostenrijkse adviseur van Red Bull heeft gezien waardoor dat precies kwam: "Hij liet zien over nog meer snelheid te beschikken. Hij wist dat ook te combineren met een nog beter bandenmanagement. Hij wist tevens veel beter het overzicht te bewaren en dat alles maakt dat we vol vertrouwen zijn en nog meer van hem verwachten."

    True, geen enkele coureur presteert zo constant en op hoog niveau als Verstappen. Leclerc en Russell komen in de buurt maar kunnen er vooralsnog niet aan tippen, Lewis heeft het lastig om zo'n niveau vast te houden.

      In de buurt kan je zeggen, maar het is dan wel een hele grote buurt. Die van een metropool zoals het Quartier Latin in Parijs , of de Bronx in New York. Verstappen aan de voet van de Eiffeltoren of in een diner tegenover Wallstreet, en Leclerc en Russel onder een brug als bohème of in de ghetto met de East side posse.

    De niet Maxpostelen zullen en kunnen dit niet ontkennen.

    Geef Max 'n auto en je kunt er donder op zeggen dat hij tot het gaatje gaat....en eroverheen.
    Max is gewoon de top.........op vriend George na.

      Hoop hebben is altijd goed. Dat geeft verlichting in bange dageb. En aangezien de dagen nog een oaar weken steeds korter worden is het fijn dat er hoop is.

      Maar net als Perez niet altijd op Max kan rekenen, zou ik ervan uitgaan dat je hoop zwaar op de proef gesteld gaat worden.

      Perez neemt al twee jaar lang de setup van Max over, omdat hem het zelf niet lukt. Hij heeft veel meer jaren F1 ervaring dan Max en dan de setup nog over moeten nemen?! Denk dat Max hem daarmee al meer dan genoeg helpt.
      Volgens Max hoeven de mensen dit niet te weten, maar hij vertelde dit nav de opmerkingen dat hij geen teamplayer zou zijn tijdens het interview bij ViaPlay eergisteren.

      @Pietje, klopt natuurlijk wat je zegt. Maar in Brazilië kon Perez (terecht of onterecht) niet op Max rekenen ondanks setup

      @Freek-Willem, Perez is toch geen kleuter die je alles nog moet leren? Hij zat in Sao Paolo 4 sec achter Max, had zijn setup al overgenomen en moest Max dan ook nog eens een keer op de rem trappen, zodat Perez die 4 sec dicht kon rijden en hem voorbij kon gaan?
      De beste man heeft weet ik niet hoeveel ervaring in de F1, veel meer dan Max en moet hij het dan nòg van cadeautjes hebben?!
      Sorry, maar Leclerc heeft de 2e plaats echt eigenhandig verdiend gekregen.

      Klopt, allemaal Pietje, daar heb ik het ook niet over. Ik zeg alleen dat Checo, in Brazilië niet op Max kon rekenen. Ik heb het dan over de letterlijke tekst, niet over wel of niet verdiend, terecht of zo.

      Leclerc is wat mij betreft ook zeer zeker terecht 2e geworden.
      En ja Perez is simpelweg niet goed genoeg.

      Ook dáár kon Perez weer op Max rekenen, want Perez mocht zijn setup zoals altijd overnemen. Moest hij hem dan óók nog voorbij laten gaan?!

      Checo weet sinds Brazilië dat hij Max nooit en te nimmer meer Bose moet maken, anders kan hij fluiten naar een helpende hand van de coureur uit Nederland.
