Leclerc dankt vertrekkende Binotto: "Mattia belde mij op"

Het team van Ferrari is momenteel hard opzoek naar een nieuwe teambaas. Mattia Binotto kondigde enkele weken geleden zijn vertrek aan en men gaat ervanuit dat Frédéric Vasseur zijn opvolger wordt. Charles Leclerc is Binotto in ieder geval dankbaar voor zijn harde werk en hij onthult hoe Binotto zijn exit aankondigde.

Binotto stond al geruime tijd onder flinke druk bij het team van Ferrari. De Italiaanse renstal begon zeer sterk aan het seizoen en won met Leclerc twee van de eerste drie Grands Prix. Daarna zakte de resultaten in en kampte Ferrari met grote problemen me bijvoorbeeld de tactiek. Het kostte Binotto na het seizoen dus de kop.

Charles Leclerc heeft nog steeds veel respect voor Binotto en de Monegask steekt dat dan ook niet bepaald onder stoelen of banken. Bij de persconferentie voorafgaand het FIA Prize Giving Gala sprak hij zich uit: "Mattia belde mij op om te zeggen dat hij ging stoppen en ik kan hem alleen maar bedanken en zijn beslissing respecteren. Hij beloofde sinds het begin in mij en hij verlengde mijn contract met flink wat jaren. Voordat hij teambaas werd heeft hij bijgedragen aan zoveel successen van het team. Ik wil hem dan ook het beste wensen."

Heb niet opgenomen toen Mattia mij belde maar graag wil ik ook van de gelegenheid gebruikmaken om Binotto te bedanken.

Bedankt gekrulde teambaas van het legendarische scharlakenrode team uit Maranello, vooral voor de spanning aan het begin van het seizoen...

Met het ontslag van binotto loopt zoveel ervaring de deur uit deze man werkte al onder schumie .
Binotto is een motor man en geen manager van een fabrieksteam er loopt gewoon teveel middelmaat in het team de echte toppers zitten vast bij merc en RB er zal met minder italianen en meer toppers uit de wereld gewerkt moeten worden anders veranderd er niks.
