Jos Verstappen baalde van chaotische titelbeslissing zoon Max

Max Verstappen kende dit jaar een zeer succesvol seizoen in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur werd wereldkampioen en hij prolongeerde zijn titel al ver voor het einde van het jaar. In Japan werd Verstappen wereldkampioen maar dat gebeurde op zeer warrige wijze, het is iets dat Jos Verstappen achteraf wel jammer vond.

Verstappen won dit jaar een recordaantal van vijftien Grands Prix, één van die zeges pakte hij dus op het circuit van Suzuka in Japan. De Grand Prix verliep zeer chaotisch en lag lang stil door zeer hevige regenval. Het was tijdens de race nog maar de vraag of de volledige punten zouden worden uitgereikt. Uiteindelijk kregen de coureurs de volle punten maar dacht Verstappen niet dat hij wereldkampioen was. Na een verwarrende tijdstraf van Charles Leclerc was hij wel degelijk wereldkampioen, iets wat hij zelf nauwelijks door had.

Toen het Verstappen eenmaal duidelijk werd, barstte er een groot feest los bij Red Bull Racing. Verstappens vader Jos Verstappen vond het achteraf wel jammer dat het zo'n enorme chaos was. In de Viaplay-documentaire Verstappen - Lion Unleashed 2 spreekt Verstappen senior zich uit: "Ik denk dat het veel van de emoties weg nam. Zelfs toen het aan Max werd verteld, was niemand er honderd procent zeker van. Dat was wel een beetje jammer. Maar toch, een wereldkampioenschap winnen is een geweldige prestatie."

  De testdagen voor het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen zullen plaatsvinden op donderdag 23 tot en met zaterdag 25 februari 2023 op het Bahrain International Circuit.
  
  In de drie dagen testen de teams en coureurs hun nieuwe bolide voor het seizoen, waarna een week later de eerste Grand Prix op het programma staat.
  
  De schrijvert heeft nog vele dagen te gaan voordat er weer een beetje nieuws gaat komen die ook echt over de F1 gaat.

Dit was niet alleen voor hen 'n deceptie, dat was het voor iedereen, voor en tegenstanders.
Als je de beelden terughaalt was het niet-wel-niet-wel-ja-nee-ja-nee......dus toch....of toch niet...iedereen was confused.

En nee, ik hoef geen plusjes voor de woorden "deceptie" en "confused".

  In deze kampioensrace 2022 maakte de FIA een blunder door voor de start of gedurende de race de teams er ter verduidelijking niet op te wijzen dat er volledige punten zouden worden uitgedeeld, terwijl de FIA in AD 2021 alleen maar een fout maakte in de eerste ronde...

  Tijdens de race werd de virtuele stand regelmatig weergegeven, en die was correct. Dus dit lag niet aan de FIA.

Het seizoen '22 om wk ging als een nachtkaars uit. '21 gaat niet zo snel meer gebeuren. Wel of geen wk, emotie was voor mij sowieso anders.

Maar de transferperiode, de controverse rondom de budgetcap en een rellende Verstappen in Brazilië maakte veel goed.

In '23 kijk ik uit naar De Vries en Piastri. Max geloof ik nu wel.

Ok denk dat de verwarring meer lag bij het volledige aantal punten dat werd geteld waar iedereen halve punten verwachtte. Dat Charles een straf ging krijgen lag voor de hand en werd ook snel toegekend.
