Sargeant woont NFL-wedstrijd van favoriete team bij

Logan Sargeant zal één van de drie rookies zijn die zich vanaf volgend jaar aan de F1-grid mogen gaan toevoegen. De Amerikaanse coureur is door Williams aangetrokken om samen met Alex Albon het Britse team in de Formule 1 te mogen vertegenwoordigen. Nu de winterstop officieel is, neemt de kersverse rookie Sargeant van de mogelijkheid gebruik om een wedstrijd bij te wonen van het American Football Team dat een F1-circuit in de achtertuin van haar stadion heeft: de Miami Dolphins.

Samen met mederookies Nyck de Vries en Oscar Piastri staat voor Logan Sargeant een bijzonder jaar te wachten. Niet alleen is oudejaarsdag natuurlijk de laatste dag alvorens er de omschakeling gemaakt wordt naar een nieuw jaar, ook mag Sargeant op die dag zijn verjaardag gaan vieren. De bijna-22-jarige coureur zal zich moeten gaan opmaken voor zijn eerste seizoen in de koningsklasse van de motorsport. Namens het team van Williams zal Sargeant proberen om zijn debuutseizoen zo succesvol mogelijk te maken.

Nu de winterstop – althans voor de coureurs – van start is gegaan, heeft menig F1-coureur al via de bekende social mediakanalen laten weten op ieders eigen manier de ontspanning op te zoeken. Ook Sargeant maakte op passende wijze gebruik van de zogenaamde stilte voor de storm. In het afgelopen weekend woonde Sargeant een NFL-wedstrijd (American Football) bij van zijn favoriete team: de Miami Dolphins.

In het Hard Rock Stadion, dat eens per jaar het omringende gebied omgetoverd ziet tot een volwaardig Formule 1-circuit, kreeg Sargeant onder groot applaus van zijn medefans een aantal speciale cadeaus. De kersverse Williams-coureur kreeg wat nieuwe Miami Dolphins merchandise cadeau, inclusief een racehelm in de kleuren van zijn favoriete NFL-team. Ook woonde de Sargeant de wedstrijd bij. Op Twitter bedankt Sargeant de Dolphins voor een geweldige dag.
