Sargeant kijkt uit naar thuisraces: "Vlak naast het huis waar ik ben opgegroeid"

Voor het eerst sinds 2015 staat er in 2023 weer een Amerikaanse coureur op de grid. Logan Sargeant debuteert immers in de Formule 1 bij het team van Williams. Sargeant kende dit jaar een aardig seizoen in de Formule 2 en kreeg promotie. Hij kijkt uit naar zijn drie thuisraces van volgend jaar.

De Formule 1 heeft officieel voet aan de grond gekregen in de Verenigde Staten. Aankomend seizoen staan er dan ook drie Grands Prix op Amerikaans grondgebied op het programma. Naast de Amerikaanse Grand Prix in Austin wordt er immers ook geracet op het circuit in Miami en het gloednieuwe stratencircuit in gokparadijs Las Vegas.

Sargeant kijkt uit naar zijn races voor de ogen van zijn landgenoten. De Amerikaan heeft echter vooral in Europa gereden en het is dan ook nog maar de vraag hoe hartstochtelijk de fans voor hem zullen juichen. In gesprek met GQ kijkt Sargeant alvast vooruit: "Het circuit in Miami is vlak naast het huis waar ik ben opgegroeid. Dat is dus best wel iets cools. Ik denk dat ook de Grand Prix in Vegas echt insane zal zijn."
