Häkkinen bestuurt kampioensbolide op Goodwood

Volgende maand staat het iconische Goodwood Festival of Speed op het programma. Het festival is een jaarlijks hoogtepunt voor de autosportliefhebber en veel raceteams komen dan ook met een grote line-up naar Engeland. McLaren zal in Goodwood Mika Häkkinen gaan herenigen met zijn kampioensbolide uit 1999.

McLaren zal tijdens het evenement een grote hoeveelheid iconische bolides meenemen. De Britse renstal zal met veel van deze auto's in actie komen op de zogenaamde hillclimb. Emerson Fittipaldi zal bijvoorbeeld plaatsnemen achter het stuur van de auto waarmee hij in 1974 wereldkampioen werd. Emanuele Pirro zal gaan rijden in de McLaren MP4/2B-03 van Alain Prost en Niki Lauda.

De opvallendste naam op de line-up van McLaren is die van tweevoudig wereldkampioen Mika Häkkinen. De Fin zal gaan rijden in de auto waarmee hij in 1999 voor de tweede keer wereldkampioen werd. Het evenement vindt van 13 tot en met 16 juli plaats en naar verwachting zullen er nog meer grote namen worden toegevoegd aan de line-up van het festival. Eerder werd bijvoorbeeld ook al Sebastian Vettel aangekondigd. Ook de teams van Williams, Mercedes en Ferrari zullen aanwezig zijn.
