Aankomend weekend staat het weer barstensvol van de autosport. Van Formule 1 tot IndyCar, van F2 tot Porsche Cup, oren en ogen tekort voor de ware autosportfan.

De hoofdmaaltijd is natuurlijk de koningsklasse met Max Verstappen en Nyck de Vries. Voor deze twee zal de Grand Prix in Oostenrijk aanvoelen als een thuiswedstrijd met giga veel oranjefans die de trip naar Spielberg maken.

Het F1-weekend is anders dan normaal door het sprintformat. Op vrijdag 17:00 uur Nederlandse tijd moeten de heren coureurs meteen volop aan de bak met de kwalificatie die de gridopstelling bepaalt voor de Grand Prix. Veel oefentijd krijgen de rijders niet met maar één vrije training. Deze oefensessie is een paar uurtjes eerder om 13:30.

De zaterdag staat volledig in het teken van de sprintrace.Tijdens een lekkere lunch trappen de coureurs om 12:00 uur af voor de Sprint Shoot Qualifying om een paar uur later vol gas een 100 kilometer Sprintrace te rijden waar de nodige wk-puntjes zijn te verdienen. Die begint om 16:30 uur. De Grand Prix van Oostenrijk begint, zoals vertrouwd, om 15:00 uur op de zondag.

Tussendoor hoeft de raceliefhebber zich absoluut niet te vervelen. De sterren van de toekomst in de Formule 2 en  Formule 3 staan te popelen om hun talent te laten zien voor het oog van de wereld. De F2-sprintrace is zaterdag 13:45 uur. De hoofdrace een dag later om 09:55 uur. De F3-sprint -en hoofdrace zijn vroegertjes. Om 10:00 uur op de zaterdag de sprintwedstrijd en zondag de hoofdrace is om 08:25 uur.

En houd je van brullende motoren? Dan is de Porsche Cup een vermakelijk tussendoortje voor op de zondag. Met veel Nederlanders (kanshebbers) aan de start, is dat zeker de moeite waard om te volgen. De race is die dag 11:40 uur.

's Avonds vervolgt het IndyCar-seizoen van 2023 zijn weg. Rinus 'VeeKay' van Kalmthout wil meer na zijn geweldige come back op zijn favoriete Road America met een P10 als resultaat. Op  Mid-Ohio komt de Ed Carpenter Racing-coureur weer in actie en hoopt het beter te doen dan voorgaande wedstrijden. De Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio is zondagavond 19:55 uur.
