Twijfel over overvolle kalender: "Misschien moet je het raceweekend inkorten"

De Formule 1-kalender is in de afgelopen jaren flink gegroeid. Volgend jaar staat er een recordaantal van 24 Grands Prix op het programma en niet iedereen is daar even blij mee. Ook Mika Häkkinen is kritisch op de drukke kalender, hij is van mening dat er alleen races bij kunnen komen als het raceweekend wordt aangepast.

Het was eigenlijk de bedoeling om ook dit jaar 24 Grands Prix te rijden, maar de races in China en Emilia-Romagna konden niet doorgaan. Volgend seizoen wil men wel 24 Grands Prix rijden, de kans is tevens aanwezig dat er in de toekomst alleen maar meer races bijkomen. Meerdere circuits, steden en landen hebben immers interesse in een plekje op de kalender. Zo heeft bijvoorbeeld de Spaanse hoofdstad Madrid verregaande interesse in de Formule 1.

Raceweekend

Tweevoudig wereldkampioen Mika Häkkinen is niet bepaald een fan van de volle racekalender. De Finse oud-coureur vindt het te veel en spreekt zich uit bij Motorsport.com: "Als je bedenkt dat een raceweekend op donderdag begint en je daarna ook nog de vrijdag, zaterdag en zondag hebt, dan zouden meer races naar mijn mening te veel zijn. Als je meer races wil hebben, moet je op een bepaalde manier het aantal dagen inperken. Misschien kan je op zaterdag beginnen, maar ik weet het niet."

Heel erg veel

Häkkinen wil echter niet te kritisch reageren op de overvolle kalender, hij geeft namelijk aan dat er veel mensen hard werken aan dit onderdeel van de sport: "Ik wil er niet te veel over zeggen omdat ik mij er niet al te veel mee bezig heb gehouden. Als ik vandaag de de zou racen en ik zou 24 races moeten rijden, dan zou dat wel erg veel zijn. Het zou dan een zware taak zijn om daarin te slagen."

De gemiddelde topvoetballer heeft niet een entourage van 100 man achter zich aan lopen die bijna 6 dagen van de week klokje rond bezig zijn om al die meuk op te bouwen en af te breken die de coureur nodig heeft om zijn truc te doen.

  voor de coureurs , is 24 weekende * 3 dagen is 75 dagen per jaar met de wedstrijden bezig, 50% meer dan die voedballers die voor de meeste wedstrijden eventjes 3 uurtjes komen opdraven en weer naar huis gaan.
  Voor de supportcrue is dat 24 * 5 dagen is ~125 dagen

In ieder geval kunnen ze best zonder de sprintraces. Af en toe een andere kwalificatieformaat is best wel leuk en opwindend, maar al die zaterdagraces maakt de race op zondag iets minder speciaal.

Je laat de hoofdact ook niet enkele nummers spelen in het midden van een voorprogramma.

Tja het is een WK en afrika en antartica zijn twee continenten waar niet wordt gereden (als je de wereld beschouwd in 7 continenten... er zijn variaties van 5 en 6)

Oceanië heeft er maar 1... zuid amerika heeft er 1... noord amerika heeft 5... Azië heeft er 7,5 europa 9,5 = 24...

Hoe lullig dan ook... europa en Azië zullen met een oververtegenwoordiging eerder dan een GP moeten ruimen... de meeste van Azie zijn dik betaalde knaken dus ja hoor europa gaat dan terug naar 5,5 gp als je maar 20 wil

En ik maar afvragen waarom de meeste mensen F1 niet meer leuk vinden omdat Max te dominant is. Zoveel meer landen willen een F1 race houden en willen ze meer dan 24 races per jaar hebben. Hoe dominanter RB en Max is hoe meer landen een F1 race wilt houden. Nou Max niet te dominant worden ander moet je 30 races rijden..... :)
