Nigel Mansell gaat enorme collectie F1-voorwerpen veilen

Nigel Mansell, de F1-kampioen van 1992, gaat binnenkort een grote lading van zijn persoonlijke collectie van F1-voorwerpen te koop aanbieden. In de maand oktober zal het bekende veilinghuis RM Sotheby's maar liefst 330 veilingen aanbieden, waarvan sommige meerdere voorwerpen bevatten.

Alle voorwerpen zijn tot het moment van veilen in persoonlijk eigendom van Nigel Mansell, die jarenlang deel uitmaakten van zijn persoonlijke museum op het eiland Jersey. De zogenoemde Mansell ‘Legacy Collection’ bevat spullen die zijn gehele carrière in de racerij omvat, zoals bijvoorbeeld de kartwereld, F1, IndyCar en de British Touring Cars.

In de 330 verschillende veilingen zullen er zeer bijzondere items te koop aangeboden worden, zoals bijvoorbeeld 32 racehelmen, 50 raceuniforms, meer dan 200 verschillende medailles en trofeeën en drie echte F1-sturen uit zijn tijd als coureur voor Ferrari, Williams en McLaren.

"Deze collectie is van enorme persoonlijke waarde voor mij", begint Mansell op de officiële F1 website. "Het vertegenwoordigt het geheel van mijn carrière en bestaat uit het overgrote deel van de kledingstukken die ik tijdens mijn racecarrière heb gedragen, zoals bijvoorbeeld de helmen, pakken en alle bekers die in meer dan 30 jaar topklasse autosport heb gewonnen."

"Het is, kortom, de materiele manifestatie van de belangrijkste momenten uit mijn carriere en het vertegenwoordigt alles waar ik vanaf mijn tienerjaren tot aan het einde van mijn racecarrière voor heb gewerkt."

Alle veilingen van Nigel Mansell's persoonlijke collectie zullen van 4 - 11 oktober gehouden worden.

Ik was fan van Nigel dus ik doe 'n gooi naar wat snorhaar van hem.

Van Ron Jeremy heb ik ook al wat haar van zijn snor......plus wat van mezelf van 40 jaar geleden heb ik dan van drie man snorhaar.
