Marko klapt voor Verstappen: "Hij verrast ons elke keer"

De kans dat Max Verstappen dit weekend wereldkampioen wordt in de Formule 1, is vrijwel honderd procent. De Nederlander heeft genoeg aan een zesde plaats in de sprintrace van morgen. Helmut Marko is trots op zijn coureur, de Red Bull-adviseur stelt in ieder geval dat hij veel verwacht van het raceweekend.

Verstappens aanstaande titel is voor vrijwel niemand een verrassing. De Nederlands Red Bull Racing-coureur heerst dit seizoen en hij heeft slechts drie Grands Prix niet gewonnen. Verstappen weet zelf ook dat hij al op de zaterdag wereldkampioen kan worden, maar hij maakt zich daar niet zo druk om. Zelfs de extreme hitte in Qatar brengt hem niet van zijn stuk, ook bij zijn team houdt men het hoofd koel.

Sprintrace

Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko verwacht een vroege titel voor Verstappen. De Oostenrijker ziet een gretige coureur en hij spreekt zich uit bij Kronen Zeitung: "Max wil het overduidelijk gaan beslissen in de sprintrace. Zeker omdat de zesde plaats dan al voldoende is. De resultaten in de simulator zagen er in ieder geval veelbelovend uit. Normaal gesproken wordt de temperatuur doorslaggevend omdat het ten opzichte van vorige keer flink warmer lijkt te worden. Zelfs in de avond kan het nog 37 graden worden."

Persoonlijkheid

Marko vindt de aanstaande derde wereldtitel van Verstappen dan ook terecht. De teamadviseur ziet dat Verstappen flink is gegroeid: "Max heeft zich als persoon echt enorm ontwikkeld. Hij vierde afgelopen zaterdag pas zijn 26ste verjaardag en hij heeft ook nog eens een uitgesproken persoonlijkheid. Qua prestaties op de baan verrast hij ons elke keer weer, bijvoorbeeld met kwalificatierondjes die je niet verwacht. Er zitten geen grenzen aan de verwachtingen en alles ziet er rooskleurig uit voor de toekomst."

  Ja de vorige alias, te weten Jim jones konden sommigen toch maar slecht verteren merkte ik. Veel verontwaardigde reacties vielen me ten deel. Bijzonder spijtig want ik had voor Jones nog vele mooie opvolgers gereed staan.
  Toen heb ik besloten maar weer de oude vertrouwde (veilige) weg in te slaan met een (ditmaal fictieve) gangster. De Sopranos vond iedereen (bijna dan toch) een goede serie, en de keuze voor Paulie was makkelijk :)
  Nu laat ik het maar even zo, want zoals @Ouw al aangeeft is het behoorlijk verwarrend
