Norris verwacht geen goede resultaten in Mexico en Brazilië

Het team van McLaren heeft in de afgelopen maanden een aantal enorme stappen gezet. Ze begonnen het seizoen in het achterveld, maar inmiddels zijn ze één van de grootste uitdagers van koploper Red Bull Racing. Lando Norris verwacht echter geen goed resultaat in Mexico dit weekend.

Norris is bezig met een zeer sterke tweede seizoenshelft in de Formule 1. De Britse coureur stond regelmatig op het podium en vorige week in Austin reed hij een groot gedeelte van de race aan de leiding. Hij werd door de diskwalificatie van Lewis Hamilton uiteindelijk als tweede geklasseerd en dat zorgde voor veel tevredenheid bij McLaren. Men had namelijk geen groot resultaat verwacht op het Circuit of the Americas.

Norris verwacht eigenlijk hetzelfde voor het huidige raceweekend in Mexico. De Brit vreest dat zijn team het zeer zwaar gaat krijgen op de omloop in Mexico-Stad. Hij wordt geciteerd door RaceFans: "Er komen twee hele zware weekenden voor ons aan, hier en in Brazilië. Er zijn maar weinig medium-speed-bochten. Er zijn veel langzame bochten waar je naar de tweede of derde versnelling moet terugschakelen. Dat is echt ons zwakke punt. Het grootste punt is dat er hier geen plekken zijn waar onze sterke punten liggen, misschien alleen een beetje remmen op de rechte lijn."
