Marko looft Mexicaanse fans: "Ze waren heel erg fair"

Voorafgaand het Mexicaanse raceweekend vroeg men zich af hoe de lokale fans zich zouden gedragen ten opzichte van Max Verstappen en Red Bull Racing. Achteraf gezien was deze zorg nergens voor nodig, want Verstappen kreeg gewoon applaus en respect van de Mexicanen. Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko bedankt de fans voor hun gedrag.

Verstappen liep in de Mexicaanse paddock rond in het gezelschap van twee bodyguards. De Nederlander had deze zelf geregeld nadat er vrees bestond over zijn veiligheid. Hij had vorig jaar in Brazilië immers een teamorder genegeerd en dat pakte negatief uit voor zijn Mexicaanse teamgenoot Sergio Perez. Sindsdien was Verstappen niet zo populair meer in Mexico, maar op zondag was daar niets van te merken.

Ook Helmut Marko werd met veel respect behandeld door de Mexicaanse fans. De Oostenrijkse teamadviseur deelt dan ook complimenten uit in gesprek met De Telegraaf: "De bezoekers waren heel fair. Max werd niet uitgejouwd, dat gebeurde een week eerder in Austin nog wel. Max is zijn hotel verder niet uit geweest, maar mij interesseerde het totaal niet. Ik ben gewoon de stad ingegaan en ik heb eerder in de week ook elders in Mexico nog een paar dagen alleen doorgebracht. We hebben geen problemen gehad. Mensen wilden juist op de foto en ze zeiden: welkom in Mexico."

      ja het was volgens mij de eerste keer dat een dergelijk fluitconcert Charles ten deel viel. Het liet hem zichtbaar niet koud. Maar ja, naarmate hij succesvoller wordt kom je ook vaker in oorden waar ze je geen warm hart toedragen (kijk naar Max) en wordt je er ongevoeliger voor denk ik

    Blijkbaar is dat dus geen probleem wanneer het niet bij Verstappen gebeurt... Slimme Marko weer met zijn altijd zo doordachte uitspraken.

      Dan begrijp je het niet...

      Er waren aanwijzingen dat vooral zaken gericht naar Max zouden gebeuren. Dat is niet gebeurt, dus in dat opzicht heeft hij gewoon gelijk en dat is ook wat hij bedoelt.

      Dat staat los van hoe de fans zich naar Charles hebben gedragen.

      In geen enkel interview geeft hij nu iets aan van het boe-geroep, noch het geweld dat gefilmd werd, want het ging niet over zijn lieveling. het enige wat ie in elk interview kon zeggen was hoe geweldig de fans waren.

      Ja, omdat hij het puur kadert binnen het feit dat de afgelopen weken naar Max en naar hem dreigingen waren. Als er dan vervolgens richting Max en hem geen negativiteit plaats vindt, is zijn reactie logisch.

      Hij kijkt dan inderdaad even niet verder naar het gebeuren richting Charles. Simpelweg, omdat dat er los van staat en hij daar niet mee bezig is geweest.

      Jij gebruik dat nu als een stok om mee te slaan. Zoals je altijd doet zodra je de kans krijgt bij RBR.

      Ik denk eerder, sterker nog, ik weet zeker dat dit een normaal menselijk iets is gezien de afgelopen weken.

      Alles wat je zegt maakt het niet minder dom als je op het internet beelden van vechtende fans ziet en een rijder wordt uitgejouwd op het podium. En ja, die interviews komen daarna. Dus nogmaals, het interesseert Marko niet zolang het niet met zijn eigen team/rijders te maken heeft, dat bewijs jij alleen maar.

      Hij had ook heel simpel kunnen zeggen: "Naar ons zijn de fans fantastisch geweest, jammer van het boegeroep richting Leclerc".

      "Jij gebruik dat nu als een stok om mee te slaan. Zoals je altijd doet zodra je de kans krijgt bij RBR."
      Grappig, ik spreek over Marko, niet over RBR. Marko is mediagewijs ook gewoon een idioot, is hij altijd al geweest.

      Ik ontken ook niet wat je beweert. Ik leg uit waarom hij op deze manier reageert en dat ik dat normaal menselijk gedrag is.

      Marko is onderdeel van RBR, dus die uitspraak over de stok blijft voor mij staan ;)
