Norris wil vooral genieten: "Je hebt maar een leven"

Lando Norris wordt gezien als één van de grootste talenten in de Formule 1. De Britse McLaren-coureur kende vorig jaar een geweldig seizoen, maar hij heeft nog steeds geen enkele race gewonnen. Norris barst van de ambities, maar hij wil ook van het leven blijven genieten.

Norris rijdt al zijn gehele Formule 1-loopbaan voor het team van McLaren. Vorig jaar presteerde hij zeer stabiel en pakte hij in de tweede seizoenshelft een groot aantal podiumplekken. Bij McLaren barst men van de ambities, ze willen ook komend seizoen zo goed mogelijk gaan presteren. Norris aast op zijn eerste zege in de sport en dat steekt hij niet onder stoelen of banken. Toch focust hij zich op andere zaken.

Norris geeft namelijk aan dat hij ook een beetje wil genieten van zijn leven. De Britse coureur is dol op het racen, maar er is ook meer in het leven. In een interview met The Athletic spreekt Norris zich uit: "Ik heb het gevoel dat mensen het leven soms veel te serieus nemen. Je hebt maar één leven. Ik denk dat we het geluk hebben dat we kunnen doen waar we van houden. Ik ben een van die mensen die iets doet wat hij leuk vindt en dat tegelijkertijd zijn baan mag noemen. Ik wil gewoon plezier hebben. Er is maar één leven, dus geniet ervan en maak herinneringen."
