Brown wil Norris uit de klauwen van Red Bull houden

Het team van McLaren onthulde gisteren als eerste de nieuwe livery voor het aankomende seizoen. De verwachtingen zijn hoog en dat geldt ook voor de ambities. CEO Zak Brown gaat er alles aan doen om Lando Norris uit de klauwen van Red Bull Racing te houden.

Norris beschikt momenteel over een contract tot en met 2025 bij het team van McLaren. De Brit lijkt zich op zijn plek te voelen bij het team en hij gaat jagen op zijn eerste zege. Vorig jaar kende Norris een zeer sterke tweede seizoenshelft waarin hij meerdere keren op het podium stond, een zege zat er echter niet in. In de afgelopen maanden toonde Red Bull echter interesse in Norris, hij is immers goede vrienden met Max Verstappen.

Omgeving

McLaren CEO Zak Brown weet dat er interesse is in de diensten van Norris. De Amerikaan gaat er echter alles aan doen om het contract van Norris te verlengen. Brown laat aan Motorsport.com weten dat dit voor alle werknemers geldt: "Ik vind dat het onze taak is om voor ze te zorgen en ervoor te zorgen dat ze bij McLaren willen zijn, ongeacht het medewerkers, coureurs of sponsors zijn. Ik richt mij er dus meer op om ervoor te zorgen dat McLaren de beste omgeving is en dat mensen graag bij ons willen zijn."

Relatie

Brown denkt dus ook dat hij een goede kans maakt bij de gesprekken met Norris. De Brit is al zeer lang verbonden aan het team en Brown is hoopvol: "Ik vertrouw erop dat onze relatie met Lando sterk blijft, ik weet dat hij uitkijkt naar dit jaar en hij was onder de indruk van wat hij in de tweede helft van vorig jaar zag. Hij werkt graag samen met Andrea Stella en alle anderen binnen het team. Alles wat we dus moeten doen, is hem een omgeving blijven bieden waar hij onderdeel van wil zijn. Lukt dat, dan ben ik ervan overtuigd dat hij blijft."

Nog even en Norris wordt gegijzeld daar. Die Brown is niet lekker geworden. Een Amerikaan die goed voor zijn personeel wil zorgen, geloof je het zelf? Ze weten niet eens hoe dat moet.

      @Flex naaah geld speelt bij deze nieuwe lichting coureurs een iets minder grote rol. Ze hebben veel liever goed en snel materiaal waar ze de hoofdprijs mee kunnen winnen op de baan dan de hoofdprijs aan knaken.

      En wat zou Verstappen bij Ferrari moeten zoeken? Hij weet donders goed hoe dat team werkt en dat is niet zijn stijl. red Bull geeft hem alles wat hij wil en nodig heeft. Maar je mag er altijd van dromen, ook al zijn die bedrog.

      Lobster Ik denk niet dat Max gaat aanmodderen met die nieuwe motor van powertrains, duurt in ieder geval 3 jaar om als nieuwe motor leverancier een betrouwbare motor te ontwikkelen.

      Powertrains heeft zon beetje overal de beste mensen weg gehengeld en de modernste motorenlijn , ook het feit dat Honda zo snel op niveau was bij RBR doet me vermoeden dat ze echt wel weten bij Red Bull waar men mee bezig is.

    Norris heeft zijn handen al vol aan Piastri, die moet eerst maar laten zien dat ie hem kan voorblijven want de leercurve van Piastri is veel indrukwekkender dan die van Norris...

      Kijk nog eens goed naar het verschil in racepace tussen die twee en oordeel dan opnieuw. Piastri is getalenteerd en heeft enorm veel potentie, maar is in de races nog lang niet op het niveau van Norris.

      Lees zojuist dat Martijn in 2017 rijlessen heeft gehad en dat hij in 2021 vertelde dat de wereld veiliger is als hij achterin een wagen zit ipv achter het stuur, want hij vond dat hij heel slecht reed. Hij heeft dus geen rijbewijs.
      Hij is trouwens vandaag naar Parijs gevlogen voor opnames voor Replay.

      Hij heeft in Lapland wel rijles gehad op het ijs.
