Nyck de Vries vijfde op eerste testdag voor Prema

Nyck de Vries heeft zijn eerste dag in de auto van Prema Racing afgesloten met een vijfde tijd. De Nederlander liet bij de Formule 2-test op Yas Marina Circuit een 1:48.700 als persoonlijke beste tijd noteren. Daarmee was hij dik vier tienden langzamer dan de snelste man.

MP Motorsport had een goede eerste dag in Abu Dhabi. Na de snelste tijd met Niko Kari in de GP3-test was de Nederlandse renstal ook in de Formule 2 het snelst, met een 1:48.282 voor Louis Deletraz. Alexander Albon en Norman Nato completeerden de top drie.

Voor De Vries was het geen geheel vlekkeloze dag. Voor de pauze kwam hij door een motorisch probleem namelijk maar tot vier rondjes. In de middagsessie maakte hij dat goed door 31 ronden te rijden. De Nederlander was een seconde sneller dan teamgenoot Sean Gelael.

    het wordt voor hem de seizoen van de waarheid volgend jaar. de kampioenen van afgelopen 2 seizoenen kwamen uit de stal van prema. er staat een loodzware opgave voor hem te wachten, lukt het hem niet volgend jaar kampioen te worden dan kan hij zijn F1 droom wel vergeten.

      Voor Prema had menigeen hem al afgeschreven. Nu heeft hij een kans en dan is dit het commentaar.

      Gelijk weer van de negatieve kant benaderen zal wel weer typisch Nederlands zijn.

    Hij krijgt het zwaar dit jaar.
    Veel druk, hij heeft de beste auto dus winnen is normaal en verliezen slecht.
    Ik hoop dat hij het goed doet.

    Leuk allemaal, maar volgend jaar is er voor het eerst sinds jaren een volledig nieuwe auto. Kan best zijn dat andere teams komen bovendrijven.

    Heel veel snelle concurrenten zoals Norris en Russell maar om echt verder te komen zal hij met dat topteam toch minstens bij de 1e 3 moeten zitten denk ik.
