Vijf Nederlanders aan de start bij Masters op Zandvoort

Het Circuit Park Zandvoort is op zondag 6 juli weer gastheer van de Masters, de prestigieuze race voor Formule 3-coureurs. Het startveld telt voor de komende editie maar liefst vijf Nederlanders, waaronder uiteraard Max Verstappen.

De zoon van Jos Verstappen is na zijn drie overwinningen op Spa-Francorchamps een van de topfavorieten voor de winst op Zandvoort. Max Verstappen komt in de Masters niet uit voor zijn vertrouwde team Van Amersfoort Racing, maar voor Motopark. Bij die renstal krijgt hij gezelschap van een landgenoot, namelijk Indy Dontje. Dontje is actief in de Duitse Formule 3 ATS Cup, waarin hij de derde plaats in de tussenstand bezet.

Dennis van de Laar en Jules Szymkowiak, vaste namen in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap, zijn eveneens van de partij. Dit kwartet Nederlanders wordt op Zandvoort uitgebreid me Steijn Schothorst. Voor hem is het zijn debuut in de Formule 3. Schothorst is normaal gesproken te bewonderen in de Formule Renault 2.0.
