De Nordschleife is een van de beruchtste en beroemdste circuits allertijden. Bovenal was de baan, die dwars door het prachtige Duitse landschap gaat, levensgevaarlijk. Drievoudig wereldkampioen Jackie Stewart typeerde dit circuit als 'The Green Hell'.

Hedendaags is racen op de oude Nürburgring met de Formule 1 uit den boze, maar door verbeteringen aan de veiligheid kan er wel volop worden geracet met GT-wagens

De beelden van hieronder laten zien dat geen enkele coureur een gevecht op deze gevaarlijke baan uit de weg gaat. Het leverde prachtige plaatjes op.
