Barwa Campos ondergaat naamswijziging en contracteert Grosjean

Het Barwa Campos-team bestaat niet meer, de renstal heet dit jaar Barwa Addax-team. De reden voor de naamswijziging is het vertrek van oprichter Adrian Campos. Alejandro Agag, al tijdenlang partner van de renstal, is de nieuwe eigenaar.

Hij kon gelijk een nieuwe coureur voor 2009 bekend maken. Renault-testrijder Romain Grosjean verdedigt dit jaar namelijk de kleuren van Barwa Addax. We hebben hoge verwachtingen van het seizoen en het team heeft me al warm welkom geheten. Ik kijk uit naar een prettige en succesvolle samenwerking, aldus Grosjean.

Agag: Over Romain hoeven we weinig meer te zeggen, hij heeft zich bewezen en heeft al de status van Formule 1-rijder, bij een van de beste teams. Wij zullen hem een auto bieden waarmee hij zijn talent opnieuw kan bewijzen.

De andere coureur bij Barwa Addax is Vitaly Petrov, die zijn derde jaar bij de renstal ingaat.
