Daniel Morad scoort eerste GP3-overwinning in Engeland

Daniel Morad heeft zojuist zijn allereerste GP3-overwinning gescoord. De Canadees pakte bij de start de leiding over van Mirko Bortolotti en gaf deze niet meer af. Alexander Rossi eindigde als derde.

Bortolotti kwam slecht weg bij de start vanaf de pole position en werd meteen voorbij gereden door Morad. De Italiaan behield wel nog de tweede plaats, maar kon het tempo van Morad niet bijbenen. Esteban Gutierrez was ondertussen bezig aan een sterke race en waagde een aanval bij Bortolotti. De Italiaan duwde Gutierrez echter het gras op waardoor Alexander Rossi definitief de derde positie overnam.

Gutierrez eindigde daardoor als vierde, net buiten het podium. Echter, de stewards hebben het incident tussen Gutierrez en Bortolotti nog in onderzoek. Nico Muller eindigde als vijfde, gevolgd door Robert Wickens die het laatste puntje pakte. Renger van der Zande pakte de achtste plaats, terwijl Nigel Melker uitviel na een touché met Josef Newgarden.
