De Vries derde achter twee teamgenoten

Nyck de Vries heeft in de kwalificatie voor de GP3 op het circuit van Sepang genoegen moeten nemen met een derde plaats. De Nederlander reed een 1:50.192 en de ART Grand Prix-coureur moest alleen teamgenoten Charles Leclerc en Alexander Albon voor zich dulden.

Kampioenschapleider Leclerc perste als enige een tijd onder de 1:50 uit zijn auto. De jonge Monegask reed een 1:49.861 en daar kon niemand aan tippen. Achter het trio van ART Grand Prix gingen de overige posities in de top vijf naar Jack Aitken en Alex Palou.

Palou is bij Campos een van de stalgenoten van Steijn Schothorst. Schothorst realiseerde de tiende tijd met een 1:50.717. Punten lonken voor beide Nederlanders in de hoofdrace van de GP3 op zaterdag.

    Dit is volgens mij precies waarom 80% van de forumleden denkt dat Nyck de F1 niet gaat halen. Wanneer je te vaak achter je teamgenoten staat ben je gewoon (nog?) niet goed genoeg. En omdat Nyck al veel tijd heeft gekregen van McLaren om te groeien zou hij voor mijn gevoel klaar moeten zijn om zich te bewijzen in GP3.

      80% ,van de forumleden ,heeft meer verstand van voetbal ,loopt nu ineens achter de Verstappens aan ,(net als bij Jos the Boss/Jos altijd in de grindbak ,en dan zijn ze allemaal weer weg)!

      Een groot talent als Nick ,gaat met goed materiaal er komen ,echter weet jij ook ,dat dit nu juist weleens het probleem kan zijn/worden ,niet de juiste mensen/materiaal ,want van McLaren ,hoef je niet veel te verwachten ,zie het vergelijk met Giedo in zijn F3 periode bij team Rosberg (die met plakplaatjes en duck tape bij elkaar gehouden moest worden) later de minste ART bolide van de rest (derde keus onderdelen),maar blijf goede hoop houden ,dat Nick het talent laat zien wat hij bij de karts ook al heeft bewezen.

      Liever een oranje bril ,dan al die schreeuwers ,die achter mensen aanlopen met een dubbel paspoort (en oranje alleen nodig hebben voor hun eigen succes)zoals al die gloryhunters die achter die Hasseltse (B) Max aanlopen te dansen.

    Inderdaad, het is niet logisch dat de meest ervaren rijder van ART constant zijn mindere moet erkennen in zijn twee jongere en minder ervaren teamgenootjes.
    Daarom was ook ik van mening dat de Vries de F1 waarschijnlijk niet halen gaat.

      Waarom denkt iedereen toch dat het zo makkelijk is of moet zijn?

      En nu niet beginnen "maar hij staat toch achter twee minder ervaren teamgenoten?". Vorig jaar was hij beste rookie in het WSR3.5 en versloeg hij een zeer sterke en meer ervaren teamgenoot.

      Ik zeg niet dat hij de F1 gaat halen, maar hij heeft het talent en de kwaliteiten er wel voor. Titels winnen is geen vanzelfsprekendheid in de sport, waar het om gaat is dat je overal en altijd in de top zit en je wedstrijden weet te winnen en poles kan scoren. En dat doet Nyck altijd en overal....
