Race Texas Motor Speedway uitgesteld vanwege zware regenval

De IndyCar race op de oval van de Texas Motor Speedway is uitgesteld naar vanavond 20:00 uur Nederlandse tijd vanwege zware regenval. In IndyCar wordt niet gereden op ovals zodra er regen valt. Er werd door de organisatie nog wel een poging gedaan de race te laten beginnen, maar na een urenlange onderbreking besloot de organisatie toch anders.

Voor de fans werd het dus een lange zit met een anticlimax. De organisatie probeerde het leed van de fans enigzins te verzachten door coureurs de tribune op te sturen voor het uitdelen van handtekeningen. Toen de regen wat minder intensief was geworden werd een poging gedaan de baan droog te blazen maar door de hoge luchtvochtigheid had dat geen zin.

De fans mogen vandaag nog een keer komen opdraven met de kaartjes die ze gisteren al gebruikten.
