McLaren kondigt opvallende samenwerking aan met Juncos Hollinger Racing

Het team van McLaren racet tegenwoordig in veel verschillende klassen. Sinds een aantal jaar zijn ze ook actief in de Amerikaanse IndyCar-klasse. Ze presteren daar niet onaardig, maar ze gaan nu wel een opvallende samenwerking aan met een ander team in deze klasse.

Het team van Arrow McLaren heeft vandaag een strategische samenwerking met het team van Juncos Hollinger Racing aangekondigd. Beide teams zijn actief in de Amerikaanse klasse en ze gaan in eerste instantie samenwerken met de focus op commerciële en strategische doeleinden. Beide teams geven aan dat dit in de toekomst kan gaan uitgroeien tot een veel grotere samenwerking. McLaren en Juncos Hollinger laten echter in het midden wat een volgende stap in de samenwerking zou zijn.

T loopt alleen vaak mis op punten dat Indycar weinig identiteit onderscheiding kan leveren en het daarom niet zo aantrekkelijk is als bijvoorbeeld Nascar.

    Is niet opvallend. Is gewoon het pad volgen van de oude BIG3. Andretti >> Shank. Penske >> Foyt ... Ganassi >> Ganassi B (de 4de en 5de auto)

    Het gaat om een technische samenwerking. Juncos gaat de dempers overnemen, deelt mee in de R&D van McLaren en gaan tezamen opzoek naar sterker personeel die eerst wordt ondergebracht bij het B team (Juncos) en eenmaal bewezen McLaren mogen versterken. Daarnaast schijnt het dat McLaren wel iets voelt voor Illot en daar (indien Mclaren ooit uitbreid naar 4 auto's) daar dips op heeft.

    Betekent dat Carpenter andermaal wat kleiner is geworden in de rangorde. De Know How van Juncos krijgt hiermee een flinke boost.

      Volledig mee eens, en dus zou Veekay na komend seizoen moeten overstappen naar een ander team, in mijn beleving...

    Ik kan mij ook vergissen maar was er ook geen sprake dat Toyota zou toetreden als motorleverancier bij de Indycar, wat zou passen bij de samenwerking tussen McLaren en Toyota van begin deze week.
