Pocono tot en met 2018 op kalender

De Pocono Raceway heeft het contract met de IndyCar Series met twee jaar verlengd en is daardoor in elk geval tot en met 2018 verzekerd van een IndyCar-race. 'The Tricky Triangle', zoals de bijnaam van het circuit luidt, huisvest later deze maand de wedstrijd van dit jaar.

Pocono-directeur Brandon Igdalsky: "We zijn verguld om het nieuws dat de IndyCar minstens tot en met 2018 naar ons circuit komt aan te kondigen. Onze baan is ontworpen voor eenzitters en onze fans genieten van de actie. Als ze met zes of zeven naast elkaar over het asfalt scheuren, dat is ongelooflijk om te aanschouwen. We hebben positieve feedback ontvangen van de teams en coureurs. We hebben er alles aan gedaan om onze race op het schema te houden en dat is gelukt."
