Race in Pocono uitgesteld wegens regen

De ABC Supply 500 op de Pocono Raceway die voor gisteren op het programma stond is verplaatst naar vandaag. De oorzaak is de hevige regenval die het racen zondag onmogelijk maakte. De race begint maandag rond 12.09 uur plaatselijke tijd, dat is 18.09 uur Nederlandse tijd.

Mikhail Aleshin moet dus een dag langer wachten voordat hij van pole position kan vertrekken. Hij is eerste Rus die een IndyCar-race vanaf de eerste plaats mag starten. Achter hem completeren Josef Newgarden, Takuma Sato, Helio Castroneves en Carlos Munoz de top vijf. Kampioenschapleider Simon Pagenaud start slechts als veertiende, vlak voor Juan Pablo Montoya.

Snap ik Jean, maar zoiets doen ze bij de F1 wel. Heb ik geschreven als protest tegen het NIET meer hebben van een staande start in de regen. Iets wat de F1 bijzonder maakt. Zeker voor Amerikanen.

    Kunnen ze daar niet gewoon achter se safetycar straten ? Zonde voor al die mensen die een verre reis hebben gemaakt op dit live te zien. Met een beetje geluk is de baan na een uurtje of 10 rijden (en een paar duizend liter methanol) kurkdroog en kunnen we beginnen....

      dat is een superspeedway, daar rijden ze sowieso nooit als de baan nat is, bij een klein buitje blazen ze de boel droog met vd grote blowers maar bij hevige regenval racen ze niet

      ah op die manier, mee eens. Ze zijn tegenwoordig veel te snel met de beslissing om te starten achter de safetycar, en dan rijden ze meestal nog veel teveel ronden. Dat is (was) inderdaad iets wat F1 bijzonder maakte.

      Hopen op de banden voor volgend jaar Jean. Hopelijk maken ze ook meteen een goede 'full-wet', zodat we staand kunnen gaan starten. Maar dat zal wel niet. Veiligheid is belangrijker en er zal maar iemand een bult of blauwe vinger ergens van oplopen...
