AJ Foyt Racing legt Munoz en Daly vast

De line-up van AJ Foyt Racing bestaat in 2017 uit Carlos Munoz en Conor Daly. Munoz komt over van Andretti Autosport en Daly is afkomstig van Dale Coyne Racing. De twee 24-jarigen vervangen Takuma Sato en Jack Hawksworth, met wie AJ Foyt Racing een teleurstellend 2016 beleefde.

Munoz: "Dit markeert het begin van een nieuw hoofdstuk in mijn leven en ik ben vereerd om onderdeel uit te mogen maken van dit team. AJ Foyt Racing had veel opties, een hoop rijders hadden zichzelf ter beschikking gesteld. Ik ben trots dat de keuze op mij is gevallen. En met Conor heb ik de perfecte teamgenoot. Hij is Amerikaans, de fans vinden hem geweldig en hij is een goede coureur met ervaring. Ik geloof dat wij een mooie combinatie voor dit team zullen vormen."

Daly: "Ik ben een heel andere coureur dan in 2013, toen ik al met AJ Foyt Racing deelnam aan de Indy 500. Ik ben nu veel beter voorbereid en klaar om prestaties te leveren. Dale Coyne Racing schonk me de kans om een voet tussen de deur te krijgen en dit is het gevolg. Hopelijk kan ik lang een vaste naam op de IndyCar-grid zijn. Ik wil graag meer dan één jaar voor dit team uitkomen. We nemen het dag voor dag, maar ik ben blij dat ik al weet waar ik aan toe ben voor volgend jaar."
